Dear sir, urgent I am a senior citizen and had been paying cesc bills for last 14 yrs at the dumdum cash collection office. My customer id is - [protected]. Today at about 12.20 pm i have visited the office to tender rs 500/- against a bill which has accumulated for few months due to non - payment by my brother-in-law, who is staying out. At the counter no -5, one lady staff shoved my rs 1000/- note saying "as i have come to the counter just now, i can not take the money with so much of currency change. I got surprised, and quietly asked her, madam can you manage the change from other counters. She simply turned away from facing me. I have shifted myself to another counter and paid the amount. Then, i have enquired with lady supervisor, whether she is having any complain book in her custody.In reply she said she does not have any. While talking to her about the erratic behaviour of the staff at counter no-5, she told me to follow the instructions to be followed as mentioned on the reverse of the cesc printed bill. That means" customer to accommodate by tendering exact amount of the bill". I have protested by saying every time it may not bee possible to do the same. But she was totally indifferent about the" erratic behavior "of the staff concerned. Surprisingly, after talking to the supervisor when i was leaving the counter / floor, i heard one staff manning" counter no - 6"was uttering among them -"go go let him complain ". I have come back & inquired with the person, whether his is encouraging me to complain? He sat upright in his chair and said" yes, go and lodge complain ". Sir, the last incident forced me to sit immediately and sent you this long" complain mail ". I am sorry to take your time. But this adamant unyeilding attitude should be dealt very firmly and to be stopped in a business organisation. Also, it is worth mentioning here that, due to late hrs and summer rain, very few customers were present on the floor. The matter" chat with md " needs to be revisited once again.
