Central Bank Of India — check returned without valid reasons and penalty charged | |||
I am an account holder of central bank of india, dombivli west branch. My s. B. Account no. [protected], ifsc : cbin028279. I am a senior citizen and living alone and living on my deposit interest. I had issued a cheque no. 490351 dated 10.09.2019 for rs. 1791/- to my housing society towards society maintenance charges. I was informed by the society the cheque was dishounoured by central bank - reason given "05-kindly contact drawer/drawee bank and please present again". I was shocked as i usually keep sufficient fund before issuing any cheque. I am maintaining this account for more than 20 years now and not once my cheque was dishonoured even once for any reason. I had visited the branch and met the branch manager. He was laughing at me as if he had earned some fund for the bank and informed me that it is a technical reason the cheque was returned and we have already debited your a sum of rs. 118/-. I am really sorry to see such an attitude and he challenged me to complain anywhere, instead of offering any solution. My society also charged me rs. 150/- towards cheque returned charged without any fault of mine. I request you to look into the matter at the earliest. Regards . S. R leela C/o. Mob no.
