Joy Joseph and wife name is Gigy Joy. NRE Account # [protected] and [protected] respectively at CBI Thodupuzha branch.My wife and myself have NRE fixed deposit more than 60 lack at CBI Moolamattom Branch. It was with the branch for more than 7 years. Always it go for auto renewal as per the original terms of the deposit. Two years before i approached the bank and renewed all for 444 days to avail the maximum interest rate. I have been advised, once it is fixed, during auto renewal it will be renewed as per the original terms. To verify that i approached the branch on 04 Jan 2025, instead of verifying it, they renewed all my fixed deposit as per the current date and I lost all the interest for the period more than three lakhs due to the negligence of the bank staff. Same day with in one hour I noticed this and reported the matter to bank authorities. They confirmed me that they already taken action and amount will be credited with in 15 days to my account. Plenty of time i contacted bank, every time they ask for extension of time. Two weeks before they told me, chief officer is visiting the branch and verify and take necessary action.
Now they refuse to pay any interest for the period money was lying with them, they accept as a clerical mistake, but not ready to pay my lost interest Was this information helpful? |
