I am writing to formally request a detailed review and reconsideration of my insurance claim, which was rejected under the grounds of “mechanical damage.” I would like to present the full sequence of events, supporting facts, and the financial impact this rejection has caused.

Accident Details
Date of Accident: 29th November 2025

Circumstances: While driving at approximately 70 km/h with five passengers, my car jumped over a bump unexpectedly. The vehicle became unbalanced, lifted nearly two feet, and skidded towards the divider.

Immediate Damage: Front bumper and grill were damaged.

Hidden Damage: The rear axle was also damaged, which was not immediately visible. I initially repaired the bumper and continued driving, but later noticed unusual noise. Upon inspection at a local garage, I was informed that the rear axle was damaged, causing both rear tyres to shift inward.

Claim Process
Claim Registered: Online claim No. 3362/[protected]/OD was filed immediately.

Roadside Assistance: My car was towed to TATA Progressive Service Center, Ahmedabad.

Communication: I informed Mr. Alay (Head of Gujarat) and Mr. Ravi (Surveyor).

Outcome: After four days, I was informed verbally that the claim was rejected citing “mechanical damage.” Despite repeated follow-ups with Mr. Alay and my insurance broker, I received a formal rejection letter after 10 days with the same reasoning.

Key Points for Consideration
Car Condition Before Accident: The car was serviced at my regular service station just two days prior to the accident and was in perfect condition. No mechanical issues were reported or experienced.

Policy Terms: The Zero Depreciation Policy purchased from Chola Company did not mention exclusions for mechanical damage. No clause was communicated via email or postal documentation.

Policy Sale: Despite my car being 8 years old, I was offered and purchased a Zero Depreciation Policy, which should cover accident-related damages.

Nature of Damage: The rear axle damage was a direct result of the accident impact, not a pre-existing mechanical fault.

Financial Impact
Insurance Premium Paid: ₹17, 000 (Zero Depreciation Policy)

Repair Costs: Over ₹30, 000 (including labour and service charges)

Total Financial Burden: Approximately ₹47, 000, combining premium and repair costs.

Request
Given the facts above, I humbly request:

A reconsideration of the claim and approval of the insurance payout.

A clear explanation of why the claim was categorized as mechanical damage despite accident circumstances.

Immediate credit of the approved claim amount to my account to offset the financial burden already incurred.

This rejection feels unfair and misleading, especially considering the Zero Depreciation coverage offered at the time of policy purchase. I trust your intervention will help resolve this matter equitably.
