Address: | Mumbai City, Maharashtra |
I am a resident of Shivdarshan Cooperative Housing Society, Sector-16, plot-5 of Sanpada in Navi Mumbai, the so called city of the 21st century.
Just opposite our society across the road, there are two empty plots 9 &10, Sector-16 A. CIDCO has put up a notice which reads “This Plot No 9 & 10 of Sector-16A belongs to CIDCO. Any trespassers shall be prosecuted”. However, for the past six-seven years one family has been living in a shanty constructed by them in one corner of the plot. Since the past one year or so, several more shanties have come up and people have started living in these shanties. The barbed wire fencing put up by CIDCO has been either damaged or removed by them. These people have spoiled the area and go behind their shanties to the Railway Compound to defecate in the open. Every morning we cannot avoid seeing this nauseating site of people defecating in the open from the windows of our bed room, kitchen and staircase. It is disgusting to say the least. This has made the whole area extremely unhygienic.
My question is- Have not CIDCO noticed such gross trespassing of their plots? Can’t they do anything to protect their own plots? Have not CIDCO got any duties to see that tax paying public get the right environment around their neighbourhood? It is not only surprising but shocking to find that CIDCO cannot even notice the fact that people are living in illegal shanties in their plots. Or do they think merely putting up a notice is enough?
I take this opportunity to request CIDCO to kindly send or depute officials to see and inspect the area and take immediate necessary actions to remove the people from the shanties from illegally staying in Plot nos 9 & 10 of Sector-16A of Sanpada and thereby spare us from the suffering of seeing not only such nauseating scenes every morning and but also ensure a healthy environment for us to live in. I also request CIDCO to take necessary action to ensure that in the future no such illegal shanties are allowed to come up in these plots.
With best regards.
