Citibank — Cheque returned

I have given cheque to citibank for the credit card payment. The details of the cheque are as below:

Bank Name: Janata Sahakari Bank
Cheque Number: 485241
Amount: 49611/-
Amount in Words: Four Nine Six One One Only

Citibank has returned the cheque saying the Amount in Words and Figures do not match.

Is this words format not acceptable by RBI rules?
I have been issuing cheques using the same format and never faced any problems prior to this incident.

I could not find any material on net saying that this format is not acceptable.

Please look into the issue.
