Cognizant — Cognizant Offer Letter Not Released After Repeated Assurances, I Declined Product-Based Company Offer Based on Their Promise

I successfully cleared all interview rounds at Cognizant and submitted the required documents for further processing. I was in regular contact with their HR representative, who gave me assurance both over phone calls and in written messages (proof attached) that my offer letter would be released "by EOD" on specific dates during June 2025.

Based on this verbal and written commitment, I made a difficult and career-impacting decision to decline a confirmed offer from a reputed product-based company, where I had a joining date. Additionally, I incurred ₹20, 000 in relocation expenses as I had to cancel my move to a different city and return home, expecting to join Cognizant instead due to their preferred job location.

Now, after more than two weeks:

I have not received any offer letter

The HR representative is not responding to my calls or messages

I am left with no job, no income, and a highly stressful situation with financial loss

I have attached a screenshot of the HR message clearly stating the offer would be released by EOD, and I can provide call logs if required.
