[Resolved]  A.P.S.R.T.C. — Abusive behavior by on-duty Lady Conductor

Address:Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh

Yet so often I experience first-hand abusive behavior by A.P.S.R.T.C. Conductors towards Passengers. Today I had a very disappointing experience while travelling through A.P.S.R.T.C Bus 102B (AP 29 Z 3203) from Phisalbanda to Secunderabad. I had boarded this bus around 1:50 PM at Phisalbanda & noticed a verbal argument ensuing between a fellow female passenger & the On-duty Bus Conductor at Chaderghat as the Conductor was reluctant to refund the balance amount on the ticket marked by her to the passenger who was disembarking at Koti.
I was so incensed by the way the female passenger was treated by the on-duty female conductor who made protracted speech marked by intemperate & harshly censorious language.
Not only did the On-Duty female Conductor used abusive language but also used racist comments and threatened the female passenger. Some of the statements she used were: "Turkollu Mental Gadlu". Some of the statements can’t be put here. I am really very hurt today that though we are trying to have equality among nations, we are victims to racism in our own country. I want to ask A.P.S.R.T.C on what grounds are they hiring their service men? Are they been given any etiquettes training at all? Are these drivers and conductors doing favor to us by letting us board the bus? What action it takes on hearing such complaints? And what action will it take in my case. Even illiterate people know how to behave. How do they get right to stoop to this level? I demand a serious action against them lest I lose all my hopes on those who are the protector of our rights.
It’s no more unreasonable to expect passengers to have exact change when they get on the bus. Bus conductors cannot abuse the passengers or force them to get down the bus. Conductors take advantage from an advice displayed in buses, which asks passengers to provide the exact change for the ticket. Even if the conductor accepts a big currency note, it is a struggle for passengers to get back the change from him. Sometimes, conductors deliberately avoid giving the change and passengers have to hastily get down when they reach their destination.
Though A.P.S.R.T.C serves good facility to the public such Abusive conductors spoil the reputation of A.P.S.R.T.C and Hyderabad City as a whole.
I am dissatisfied with your service and look forward to hearing from you soon.
P.S. I've also filed a complaint with APSRTC on its Toll Free number[protected] Complaint Number : 18413636

Yours faithfully,
Syed Irfan
