Abn Amro — Home Loan rate is 12.75%

Indian Governmeny is asking banks to reduce Home loan rates but for ABN AMRO ROI is 12.75%
I am personally very upset with this bank and really want to register a complaint for their false promises and unprofessionalism

Can Government put some governance and help consumers like us?

I very much agree to this. When all banks are reducing home loan interest rates, these ABN AMRO bank fellows don't seem to Budge. I had taken a home loan with this junk bank and they are charging me 13% interest rate. All other banks are charging at 8.75%, 9%, ...maybe a maximum of 10%. But this useless ABN AMRO Bank is charging 13%, which is a big difference compared to other banks.
Can't the government do something about this. I think these fellows need to be taken to court.
If someone is planning to register a complaint against ABN AMRO bank for charging such high home loan interest rate I'm ready to join them. Even otherwise I'm planning to register a complaint with their bank ombudsman. I don't know how far this would help.Maybe there can be 0.25% or 0.5% difference in interest rate compared to other banks. When other banks are charging 9% home loan interest rate, these fellows are charging 13%, which is almost 4% more when compared to other banks.

I also agreee, I was watching CNBC and it was said that complaint's can be logged against the bank. I am ready to complain. Even if we complain and they give interest rate of that of new customers than also there new interest rate is high. Also, the extra they have charged till now should be paid back to us with interest.
I have taken a homeloan from ABNAMRO on June'2005 bearing Homeloan 9207467 for Rs 700000/- for 20 years terms. At that time the terms signifies that interest rate will be 7.5% for next 3years and 7.75% for next 2 years beyond 3 years and rest 15 years as per the prevailing market rate. But after completion of 5 years they have charged me with interest 12.75% backing previous one year.Previous year, on July 2010, I have paid Rs 150000 as Principle except my normal EMI.Yet after reschedule of my future payment total payment will be more than my initial terms and conditition as agreed by ABN-AMRO. It is very unethical, illegal and harmful to the interest of a regular EMI payee (without any failure) like me and deviation from the initial agreement as established between me and ABN-AMRO Bank at the time of taking Loan. On 2nd April 2011 I have paid Rs 100000 as Principle except my normal EMI. The interest rate is a big difference compared to other banks even ABN-AMRO Bank has issue new home loan at a cheaper rate. I have lodge complain against you extra amount should be paid back to me imdiately with interest.
