[Resolved]  Aircel — Illegally Forced Subscription to Services

Aircel forces subscriptions onto customers withour their consent -

I have recently started using Aircel and my number is +[protected]. On the afternoon of 24th March I received a SMS from Aircel informing me that I have subscribed to "English Sikho" program and Rs. 30/- has been deducted from my account. I thought there must be a mistake and called up the complaint number 198. I was informed that a call was made from my cell phone to subscribe to the service. Really!! I checked my call log, in case I had accidentally pressed some buttons...Nothing! After that I tried at least 6 times to lodge a complain but everytime I complete stating my problem and demand for a reversal of the amount deducted, either the call drops or I am forwarded to a "phantom supervisor" who never picks up the phone. Later in the day I discovered that the same subscription has been "forced" on my wife's account as well. When she calls up the complain line she is harshly informed that the subscription was requested from her mobile, though there is nothing in her call log.

It is not a matter of 30 rupees but a matter of how these service providers dare to steal our money and shout back that we are at fault!!! Is there no way to stop such malpractice. I am looking forward to finding a way to fight back such illegal forced subscriptions and file an official complaint. Any suggestions are most welcome. I shudder to think how the senior citizens who are not very mobile savvy are being ripped off their money - they must be getting subscribed to all sorts of services without them even knowing that they have those services on. God save us!
