[Resolved] Airtel — WAP service (SSL connection not available). | |
NOP (WAP) is active on my prepaid mobile number (Airtel, West Bengal telecom circle) for last few months. From the first week of November, 2007 I am getting a problem to access some login-web pages (like some email login pages). When trying to access getting response "Unable to create a secure connection to this server" or "Web: Connection time out" (Mostly last one). I have noticed that SSL (Secure Sockets Layer, security protocol for TCP/IP) encrypted connection is not available. To cheek the actual problem I have tried to access " login.yahoo.com " & " https://msp.f-secure.com/web-test/ (Provided by F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus to cheek the web connection to update the Anti-Virus)" and got the same trouble. I have installed another web browser (NetFront v3.2) in my handset and when trying to access getting reply " ERROR SSL handshake https://login.yahoo.com/config/login_verify2? " or " ERROR SSL handshake https://msp.f-secure.com/web-test/ " (but I am not getting any problem to access other normal HTTP pages & problem only persist in case of HTTPS pages). Currently I cant access mobile hotmail, mobile gmail etc. I have contact with Airtel GPRS help desk/customer care/Nodal Officer but they cant help me. At last they told informed me that SECURED CONNECTION will not be available. I'm in great trouble. Help me please. Was this information helpful? | |

I am Shekhar and my Mother in Law is using a prepaid no [protected] which is a lifetime activated card we have requested no of times (fro past 6 to 8 months for deactivating the pitcure messages services for which we are charged Rs 30 monthly, we have tried all options (Un Luv, un Love a and all others informed by the call centre agents ) but the problem persists.
Request you to please deativate the services of picture maessage which we get from the Airtel server.

There are nothing new on theirs service.
Https / secure sites r not opening... And speed is like a snail moving... Very very slow... 3rd class speed even on edge enable mobiles... Also why is north user given only 2mb download file size limit while rest of india 3mb download file size limit in this service.[other companies like bsnl, idea give 5mb at least in whole india]
This is to inform i am about to churn airtel postpaid, poor coverage services in the area.
SSL connectivity which was perfectly all right in the last week is now not available
Why don't you take a legal action against AIRTEL?
Without SSL (i.e.https://) whats the use of the WAP? Since, Most of the sites were requires login to surf.
Can anyone tell me "HOW DO YOU FIND AIRTEL WAP(NOP) IS USEFUL without SSL"...

I have given lot of complaints regarding bad network coverage near my residence. They keep postponing my resolution target date and also few times the closed few complaints without my knowledge even issue was not resolved. We need to take some action against them.

sir, please enable ssl connection otherwise we cant browse any ssl site gmail, yahoo airtel customers paying but cant get all sites this is not at all good.so many customers are very angry on airtel due to this reasons and may lose customers also by going to another network so please enable secure socket layers connection thank you
i have activated text based service subscriptions on airtel wap through intenet. but i dont know the site in which i have activated that text based subcription. i already complained about this to u. and i get reply from you that is""Thanks for your enquiry. The mobile number you mentioned in your email was
never subscribed to the Mozook service. Please check if you sent us the
correct mobile number, else you probably subscribed to a different service
that is not managed by us."" but i dont the way how to unsubcribe this service. i have been charged Rs10, 20, and Rs5 by the following numbers 64611010, 64611020, 64611005. till now i have been charged more than Rs200. i am not a rich family. i am suffering more. i am afraid to recharge wheather i will be charged by that subcriptions. i want to know the different service that you mentioned. plz specify the others services like mozook.my mobile number is([protected])

the same problem found with my connection (Airtel Live). Before November there was no problem with security of connection. But at this time its a great problem for email access.
Airtel did nothing on it.
