[Resolved]  AMBAL MOTORS — Poor Service

Address:Chennai, Tamil Nadu

I left my bike Yamaha FZS for service at Ambal Motors, Purasaivakkam, Chennai on March 2 with the complaints 1.) Noise from front Disc brake and 2.) Low Mileage of only 25 Kmpl. For my first complaint they said it was because of the Disc kit and it has to be replaced and eventually they have replaced and charged Rs.1200 and they delivered the bike on March 3 and on the time of Delivery they said the low mileage was because of Choke cable and said it has to be replaced (which they could have replaced during the service).

Just after couple of days of service my bike started getting switched off on slow speed and hid-ling of the bike keeps on varying from time to time (Thank god i haven't met with any accident till now because of sudden increase of hid-ling in my bike). When i checked with the service station this is because of the choke cable which they failed to replace during the service.

Regarding my first complaint, even after replacing the Disc Kit i continued getting noise form Front Disc. So i took the bike back to service station on March 4 and they said it was because of the new Disc Pad and the noise would subside eventually on use. But even after 20 days (1000 Kms) the noise didn't subside so i took my bike again to the service station on March 23 and now (after spending 1200 Rs) they say the noise is not because of the Disc Kit and it was because of the Wheel Bearing and asked me to get the bike next day to change it.

On March 24 afternoon i took my bike again for the fourth time to the service station, but they said they have received large number of bike for service and my bike cannot be attending today also, which is really frustrating, because of inefficient service personnel the cause of the issue was wrongly diagnosed and changed the Disc Kit, unnecessarily charging me Rs 1200. Then on March 24 i raised a complaint to Yamaha and Service station Manager regarding the poor service i received from Yamaha Authorized Service Station, for which Yamaha sent just sent a Acknowledgement mail and the service manager sent a mail to bring my bike to service station and he said he will attend to my complaints.

I called them on March 31 to confirm if they can get my bike fixed if i bring it today for which the manager said it cannot be done today and asked me to get my bike my on Monday. And today April 2 i got a call from service center and asked if i am bringing my bike today and i asked them if i can get it fixed immediately and don't have to leave it for a day get it fixed (as i don't have a proper mode of transportation to get back to my home), if i bring my bike by 5pm and they said YES and confirmed i could take the bike on the same day. As they said i can get my bike fixed immediately i took the bike today by 5:15 pm (after taking permission from my office to leave by 4:30pm). And after making me wait for 45 Min's a service personnel came to attend my bike by 6pm and he said it cant be done now and asked me to leave the bike for a day. This is not what they said when they asked me get the bike for fixing the issue.

At-least they could have said that before making me wait for the 45 Min's. But after making me to take permission from my office and wait for 45 Min's this is not the reply i expected from them and this is not the way a customer should be serviced and make him to visit the service station 5 times without even attending to the fault. Moreover they charge for each and every work they do like chain cleaning, fitting etc apart from 300 Rs for general service (Cant understand why they are charging 300 Rs while they are charging for every work they do separately).

Hope some action would be taken to provide proper service to the consumers.

Thanks

Hi All

Yesterday (4th April 2012) i gave my bike(Yamaha R15) for service and told them that i am getting the engine overheat signal once i ride my bike for 2-3 kms. i told them to check the radiator (which i thought the problem would be). They (sukesh Mob: [protected]) told me they will check every thing but it will take 2 days. on 2nd day i called them 10-15 times and they did not picked my call. i called the showroon guys and asked them to connect me to the service station guys. The Vimal from service station spoke to me and told me that my bike service is still not started (at 3:30 PM on 5th April 2012) and they need one more day but again i got a call from the service station at 5:30 PM and told me that my bike is ready and i can pick up. i asked them what was the problem and why i was getting engine overheat warning. They told me they don't know and need to ask the mechanic who actually worked on it. After few mins when i was stressing them and asking them is there any issue with radiator or some thing else which caused me the over heat problem. They told me they was a hole in radiator and they fixed it with some thing and bike will not give any problem. They asked to pay 800 for oil change and i can take my bike. On the way to home from service station i found the problem of overheating still exists also the oil change was not done at all (can be easily identified when gear shift). i was very much unhappy not because they cheated me for money but my bike is in still same condition and hardly get time again to fix it. The service center guy sukesh promised me i won't be getting any issue till next 3 months (don't know what his calculation was) and they fixed every thing what can be done on my bike. This is my 4th yamaha bike but now after seeing all this i started hating yamaha. Very very very poor service.

Regards
Praveen
