[Resolved]  Apollo Tyres Ltd. — NON REPLACEMENT OF TUBELESS TYRE - APOLLO

Dear Sir,

I, RAJESH KAKKAR, resident of Flat no. 138, DDA SFS Flats, Pocket 2, Sector 11, Dwarka, New Delhi - 110075, would like to bring to your kind notice the bad quality of Radial Tyre and harrasment suffered by myself through one of the leading Tyre Manufacturing company, i.e APOLLO.

I had purchased two tyres of APOLLO from M/s Excellent Tyres (Auth. Dealer of Apollo) on 12/04/09 vide invoice no. 963; for my Verna Car DL 4CS /8333. On 25th June 09, I went to M/s Exellent Tyres for alignment of wheels. On the shop itself we find one small nail in one of the front tyres.

While in the process of repairing the punture the rubber of the tyre is so soft that it cann't able to ressist the punture. So I requested the owner Mr. Gulzar of M/s Excellent Tyres to get the same replaced as the rubber of the tyre is quite soft to ressist the punture, so its a maufacturing defect and also the tyre is just two month old and hardly runs 3000 kms.

Mr. Gulzar agreed to put forward the complaint in front of Apollo official Mr. Rajiv Sharma ([protected]). After getting assurance from Mr. Gulzar I left the tyre at his shop. In the evening I got a call from Mr. Rajiv Sharma and without even seeing the tyre he informed me that it is not a manufacturing defect so we can not replace the tyre. On my repeated request he agreed to see the tyre in the next 1-2 days. On 2nd July 09 when I try to contact Mr. Rajiv Sharma he is not reachable, so I contacted Mr. Gulzar, he infomed me that as Mr. Rajiv Sharma was on leave so the matter is still pending as it was. But he assures me to get the same done latest by 6th July 09

On 6th July 09, I was surprised to know that Mr. Rajiv Sharma having the same opinion that it was not a manufacturing defect, so I was advied to use the same tyre with tube in it.

Sir, I would like to put forward my complaint as below :-

As a consumer, a tyre should ressist the punture and if it can not ressist the same then its a manufacturing defect and if the company's representative ask me to use the same tyre with tube then it means that tyre is not fit to be a tubeless tyre as claimed by the company. And company is exploiting the lack of knowledge and awareness of the consumer and just making money by selling sub standard products.

So, I request you to please help me take below compensation : -
1. Replacement of tyre or Rs. 2900/-, being cost of the tyre.
2. Rs. 10, 000/- towards mental harrasment and time consumed for following with the company.
