[Resolved]  Asian Business Exhibitions & Conferences Ltd. (ABEC) — Pls do not join

ABEC who joined the organisation on 22nd Nov 2010 and has to leave it on 17th Dec 2010. During This short span of time I have concluded various findings and Analysis coupled with my experience which I would like to share with you (Which is indeed very interesting!!!).

ANALYSES: If you really like any of your colleague meet him/her as if this would be their last day coz you never know if they are going to leave the organisation tomorrow, as the highest Attrition rate of the company doesn't really assure you. While interviewing the HR promised of ample opportunities of growth, to my amazement it was more than I expected, as everyone on the floor is your Supervisor, who wants to rule you in some way or the other (Especially the so called Seniors) Who also fight among themselves or play politics.

The BOSS reminding you on every possible occasion that he is the BOSS and will throw you out of the Organisation (Most funniest). As followed, every senior (as mentioned above) keeps reminding you about the ways of getting expelled or being thrown out of the organisation, instead of instructing about the workflow, making sure that there is a constant feeling of insecurity. Sometimes the Big BOSS comes and yells at every person standing in Group, including the HR and giving them the definition of HR (LOL) Which includes 4 members of DEPUTY, MANAGER and so on.

The BOSS doesn't even know who is working in his department despite the person might have joined since a month. The Most Unique in the entire Employment History, if you reach office at 10:50 instead of 10:45 twice, your salary for 1 day is siphoned off. One thing you will realize, what the Organisation wants from you, it simply lack the most THE PROFESSIONALISM. And still believing it to be a Corporate (Yet other funny piece).

INFRASTRUCTURE: The BOSS wants, YOU to purchase the bunch of Magazines, Use your cell phones to make unlimited calls for his Business purpose, Use your modes of Transport to reach Office in stardom way. While being unaware, that even NGO or Non-profit Organisation/Charities & Relief work Organisation also do has the courtesy to provide their employee with the Basic necessities to work. No Chairs and Computers, you have to rely on the mercy of someone going to the toilet to let you relief your feet and check your mails. Long standing queues at the washroom and you are lucky enough if you find it clean. HR always felt from the Office phone I am unreachable, whilst I am receiving calls everyday from Europe!!!. Make sure you do not keep any of your imp belonging in an office furniture even though its your hard worked data coz you never know if that Furniture itself is gone!!


EXPERIENCE: That was all General so far, let me share you with my personal experience. Since my first day and till my last day, I always faced continuous Trail, could be either from HR or my very much experienced Team members. Instead of getting a proper training or product Knowledge, every one since the first day en-quired/probed question and gave UN-welcomed feedback about the closure despite them not knowing how to do that!!! The HR was always fascinated about my Tie and Shirt. On the entire planet the ABEC only cannot reach my cell phone and that was the reason told me to be relieved from the organisation. I was truly relieved in my life, but when contacted the HR for confirming the same the HR executive confirms it and asked to drop an email for further process. When emailed number of times including the highly Professionalized BOSS There was never a single response.

When contacted directly to the Office, The HR executive smartly reminds me that I was absconding since many days, and thus taking advantage of the telephonic conversation. When tried probing and giving fool proof Answer to the HR, The DEPUTY HR had no other Option (since professional) but to start talking in a HOOLIGAN style and threatening me to face dire consequences. And started creating an drama kind of scene and asking me to leave.

I had no choice but to forget my hard earned salary for almost a month and also the money which the BOSS asked me to spend from my pocket for his generous purpose which includes Travelling, Phone bills, Magazines etc. For one can understand the organisation is under the severe condition even more than an Alms / Charities wing. My colleagues and people who joined with me were smart enough to leave the organisation on the very first day they joined, But still I enjoyed my stay and learnt many wrong side of the environment.

Where you work represents your worth, rest is individual choice!!!

Pros:
Quick Appraisals (if you perform), Lots of Learning if you are a fresher, that's it !

Cons:
Terrible working environment, no regard what-so-ever for employees or their benefits, naukar-malik system still exists here, if you're a girl with a pretty face chances are you'll get paid more even if you're IQ matches Rahul Gandhi & associates, no structure or hierarchy of any manner. Politics of such high levels which would entice even Arvind Kejriwal to think about joining the company, I've seen many people loosing their salaries (or being put on hold for months together), more people join and leave the company than total number of people boarding a Virar fast daily, management is only concerned about their objeoctives, HR is as dumb as a flower pot...

I can probably write a book about my negative experiences here...the company is regarded as a total CHEAT by its customers ! The company because of its dishonest dealings and crook like behaviour is bound to go down if nothing more than it. Ohh, had to write this; extreme sales pressure but no incentives or travel (NA if you're a pretty girl) or anything to pump you up. Its just a ruckus of many people fighting over accounts ! Your hard-work, sincerity and dedication has no place, if you can not apple polish the management. During the days of events, you would be made to work for 24-30 hours straight with no over-time or comp-off (comp-off is as Alien to them as Saturn's 7th moon is to me). If you are 35 or something and are worried about fast-loosing (receding) hair line, fear not once you join this company. You would loose your salary faster than you loosing your hair ! They deduct your salary for every trivial reason, you got late by a minute for 3 days in a month (that's 3 minutes in a month) and you loose your day's pay. You can not eat for more than 30 minutes with no tea-coffee breaks in between ! And how can I forget to write about the Employer- Laborer relationship, the management can wear shoes in the office but we can't Maybe they think that only they ride around Mumbai in a BM... !

Genuine Advice straight from the heart: Please stay clear of this company !

Advice to Management:
Be honest, not just with your employees but also with your customers.
Office Culture is as pathetic as yesterday's stale food !
If you expect your employees to work over time, please pay them accordingly !
HR needs to be a lot more educated !
ohh, and wearing a suit doesn't make you a professional. Honoring your commitment does !
what the bloody kind of org...I believe that every candidate (who is serious about their career) should check the every company's credentials before giving interview or joining..if they can choose to check our credential then why not us..

and if anything goes wrong, drag that company in court, but make sure that you have enough docs to prove your point...

I have refused to work with the company where attrition rate is very high, becoz it prooves that the org is not bother about the career of their employee.

I was also planning on applying at this company..currently they have made everything look and sound good..but I was shocked at the fact that they made you spend out of your own pocket..

why wasn't all this reimbursed? what did they tell you when you asked for it? can you also tell me whats the company strength and what was the maximum life span of people in that company..as in for how long would anyone last in that company..

My name is Ajay and I do work with an organization. NOT ABECL, . While surfing the internet I saw your complaint. I did read your complaint an come to a conclusion that ABECL could be an orgnanization which could ruin your precious time. But You see I have a friend of mine who is working with the company and he is very happy with his current job profile and the treatment of colleagues. I myself have worked with few organizations wherin I got a good response. So point is that your world consist if you. If you are treating the people in good manner and You see you should know to deal with different kind of people in different situations. Now If I will have this situation trust me I can deal with this. Please do not provide a wrong impression to other people about any damn company. Give your points and view n so called free suggestions but do not keep them biased.

Dude never never never never join ABECL, some people might be happy here since they have survived the tough ordeal, but for experienced and qualified guys it should be a strict no no company

I had joined abecl and worked there only for 13 days, for the first 10 days i hadnt even seen my boss, no boss but many supervisors the owners secretary ur supervisor, the MIS coordinator used to tk the reporting as if he is the owner of the company, You have to go for a meeting u have to inform your admin manager, your coordinator, bosses secretary and finally your boss about the meeting. U cannot be caught talking to each other or sharing a joke as someone might see you(damn Scary), Wearing slipons in the office(never guessed y), No smoking breaks before or after lunch time, Lunch time only 30 min 5 min late and you miight be reprimanded.

Even this did not DE-motivate me they offered me to take a cut in my salary just after 13 days of joining so i happily offered them my resignation(never been so happy for leaving the organsiation)

I agree with all above complaints. As it happened to me too.

I was recruited at Bangalore office of ABEC and was asked to join company within 15 days at Gurgaon office in property vertical. I had to immediate leave my previous company and shift to gurgaon. I joined on 22nd-June-11. Though my salary that ABEC offered, was handsome but after I joined here, I was relieved within 23 days of my joining without any reason after organizing Times Realty Expo at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi in July-2011. I was told by my vertical head that there was no need of vacancy in property vertical but then also I was recruited. Even HR at bangalore and HR at Gurgaon office didn't had a valid reason for relieving me from my job. The worst thing was I was given on written that if I would be relieved within 15 days, I wouldn't be eligible of salary. But I worked there for 23 days and I was told that upper management has decided not to give salary. Beside I was assured of my vertical head and HR that I would get my salary, I kept on waiting for more than 2 weeks. Also at time I was assured by MD Manish Gandhi for the same, but all in vain. They kept my Rs. 21000 acc. to 23 days salary and I had to leave gurgaon after spending all expenses of my own.

Now the inside story for this company is that even employees of this company do not like working and environment of the office. The worst is so-called management which is handled from mumbai under Manish Gandhi. Their is no business ethics that they follow. They keep on recruiting employees daily beside any need because they know that they will expel them after few weeks, months or even days and that also without paying them giving no reason.
There is no training provided by this company. You need to be already trained before joining in order to sustain, because from the day 1, they just need business.

I am sharing this so that if someone is thinking of joining it, do not spoil your time, money and above all career.
This is the worst company to join with. It is just working on salaries that they have kept of their ex-employees.

I got a call from a Mumbai based consultant for a job opening in this company (I am in Delhi BTW), I went for the 1st round of interview, Ms Priyanka took my interview, I had to fill a form kept on reception to fill my educational and professional details. There was a column which was asking for salary expectation.

The consultant asked me about my expectations over the fone, and told me that they are ready to give 4.5 lakhs P.A
so, I filled 5 lakhs as my expected salary assuming that they would negotiate and come down to 4.5 L PA. Had I started from 4.5, I wud have to go below that.

Anyhow, Interview began...it went on for 45 mins, It was a regular HR round, tell me something about yourself & stuff. I dont know why I was asked to tell about Maslow's Hierarchy of needs. but not a problem, I remembered, and I was able 2 answer. I was asked 2 lower down my salary expectation since I have no sales experience. I said 35000 per month (since my last salary was 23000 and I m an MBA...so, I told them a reasonable figure...what I really was expecting) Priyanka insisted me to further lower down my price, without giving her price. She never told me whats the company's slab for my profile. I would have settled for 30000 P.M also. But they never bargained, and simply kept on asking me to lower down.
Now thats not the way to negotiate.

I was asked by Priyanka to come on Monday in full formal attire. But she told me to wait for a fone call from their side. I kept on waiting for the fone call...on monday, I got a call from them saying that my interview has been "CANCELLED" and I will be notified whenever it will happen.
I called up the consultant- she said that they have put me ON HOLD...bcoz they are looking for someone who asks for a lower package than me.
I kept waiting for their call...and after 4 days, I was called for an interview...

2nd round was with some Mr Sameer, he took my interview for namesake...asked me to wait outside at reception - HR wud get back to me.

I waited for like 4 hours, hungry and thirsty...
nearly everyone was being asked to wait outside..

finally after 4 hours of waiting, I was told to "leave for the day, my consultant would get back to me"
I understood, I didnt get the job...

Imagine how stupid can any company be, to not negotiate salary on the 1st place, and rejecting a candidate without even thinking that you have made him wait outside for 4 bloody hours, without quoting your price for the job.

but now after reading the above feedbacks, it seems it was a good thing
Btw, there is some Himanshu in HR department, who thinks he is oversmart...

Need not mention name, I worked for a full fledged over 2 years with ABECL. During my span, i discovered that ANY company in the world just could not be worse than this one. Trust me. Problems faced during my stay:
1. Salary not released on time (no problem). For some month, salary not released at all. Reason by HR: Sir, didn't approve of it
2. Travel Allowance not given even @ the time of their biggest show ET ACETECH wherein the entire branch works. Reason: you did not travel enough to justify. (If we did not travel enough, how did we dragged our A**** daily for their stupid show)
3. No incentives, no bonus, no perks as if you are working for a charity cause.
4. Attendance even by a minute delay is treated as absenteeism. I've lost a major part of salary because of this
5. Casual leave allowed only 10. Both prefix and suffix rule. means you'll loose 3 days salary if you take a leave on either saturday or sunday
6. Working with Mr. Sumit gandhi/ Mr. Manish Gandhi (B**** Sons), I discovered a new rule of getting business cards of existing clients in every meet. WTF! (Just to prove that you've met that person). Not even an insurance company does that.
7. No privilege leave no sick leave no other leave even if they are mentioned in your offer letter. Beware of that
8. If you are absent for a reasonable (reason given to the company) for more than 7 days, consider your job gone
9. Salary not given if you resign and resignation strictly means leave the next day. No notice period needs to be served
10. Daily tortures even after giving revenue to the company, unethical working, unhappy employees and everything makes life hell
11. Ask for the highest rates in industry and delivers the lowest to the clients. Cheating clients also

I will conclude saying the same thing as others, PLEASE DO NOT JOIN any branch (Gurgaon, Banglore or Mumbai) for your own good.
sumit gandhi is a chor. he has no ethics. if you are joining this company then god bless, as you wont be paid or respected or appreciated for any work you do for this sardar company.

PLS don't join the cheaters they will not only ruin your inner stability but also your peace of mind. The organisation is full of politics. Their only USP is that they are the biggest exhibition organizers in India because they have a tie up with Times for the exhibitions and most surprisingly they not only they cheat their clients but also their partners "TIMES". I have handled most of their clients and for each client there is black money involved as most of the transactions are in cash to save clients service tax. They proclaim to have magazines but have never released it from the time they have started the organisation.

If you still don't believe the me and the others pls go and see it yourself.

I have worked with ABCEL in the past, and to be honest did not experience such things, i am surprised to listen to all this as my experience has been quite fruitfull. Infact the company has come a long way and provides a professional environment to employees.

THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY EVERRRR!!! Only people ready to be slaves and who have no self respect can work here. Please please DO NOT waste your time. They are UNPROFESSIONAL. They have insane rules for employees at work. Loads of MONEY issues as well.

I have been working with abec since past few months, over this period what I have experienced is not at all Bad. For me getting trained under both the Bosses. Snd their guidance is as good as doing an MBA degree . Those who say its unprofessional are saying such things may be because they might have never worked under such professional organistion . I appreciate the kind of dedication that both the director"s have and It won't b worng if they expect the same frm their staff .

Very disorganised organisation. I was called for interview last friday. The employees there were kind of ridiculous. No professional etiquettes, they are shouting, singing, cribbing over Dominos pizza that was delivered to them when 5 o[censored]s were sitting there for interview. The ambience is so very unprofessional that a lady employee was singing looking at one of the male candidates sitting there for interview. HILLARIOUS it was :D .. The HR was also more interested in "what's going on inside" rather than taking a serious interview. Totally B***S***!!! After taking 2 interviews, the HR disappeared for about an hour, as if they are the only ones working in this world and all people coming for interview are idle in their lives. During that 1 hour break by the HR, a gentleman enters.. well dressed... looked highly professional.. (giving a good hope about the company).. but all went in vain the moment he opened his mouth. He is no better than the rest.. none of them are concious that every single word coming out of their mouth are heard by some outsiders who might have negative impression about the org altogether.

I was called for the interview with ABECL- Bangalore. I waited there for around 2 hrs. Finally interview happened and i have got selected for the second round. By seeing all the reviews I am in a great dilemma whether to go or not.
Please suggest... honest and unbiased answers will be of great help.
