[Resolved] Asianet Cable And Internet — Asianet Service is a pain
I contacted Asianet for a new cable and internet connection. I first contacted their helpdesk and with multiple calls I was redirected to Asianet office (Mulanthuruthy, Kochi, Ernakulam, Kerala). They first threw me an yearly digital cable option and when asked for other options they said that there are nothing else available. I had to then dig into their website to get details of other schemes including the free modem they provide if I take a digital connection. With more enlightenment I called the office again and requested for a different plan. They didnt welcome the idea much but agreed as there was no other choice. Then began the long wait for a new connection. The office helpdesk assured that connection is on the way and I had to keep on calling them multiple times a day to check the status. The frustration continued for a week and at their mercy they provided me with a digital connection.
Then came the next twist. The coupon for free modem - have to go to their office and collect it. I was forced to go to their office as I had opted to get their internet connection too. This was mearly for a sign in a form which they could've easily sent with the person who brought the connection.
Expecting the service to be a bit better from the Asianet Internet guys (Valanjambalam, Kochi, Ernakulam, Kerala) I contacted them. Unlike the cable guys - they gave me multiple options (Monthly, 3 months, 6 months & yearly). Then started the waiting game. The same story as cable guys I had to wait for 4 days and atlast this person shows up with a form. I showed him the free cable coupon which I got from Asianet and maybe he didnt like the idea the monthly plan vanished from his list. He wanted me to take a bigger duration one which I told him that I want to take after I know my usage. He didnt budge and we had to agree upon a 3 month plan. After all paper work was done and money taken he said that connection will come in next 4 days. I was shocked. I am still waiting for my internet connection. When they told they are coming just now took 4 days, I am not sure how long 4 days will take in Asianet terminology
The attitude they show is pathetic. They just dont care whether we take connection or not. As customer you have to plead to get a new connection. If new connection is such a pain imagine the plight of other service requests. The moment my term is over, I am moving over to other dish and internet providers. Please dont fall into Asianet, your peace is sure gone for a toss.
I hope that any Asianet officials understand this issue and take some corrective action on how they should treat a customer.
