[Resolved] Birla Sunlife Insurance — Delay in Cashless facility | |||
Hi, My sister had taken a Universal Health Plan from Birla Sunlife Insurance. I had a harrowing time dealing with these guys-They are down right pathetic with there services. Just to share with every one I'm putting down the details of the events: 1) 25th Jan 08:45 AM documents sent from Fortis hospital-Bangalore for cashless hospitalization. 2) 26th Jan-Republic day holiday, so no movement on the process 3) 27th we were told that cashless facility cannot be availed. 4) Two days - 27-28th Jan we din’t get any response from Birla/TTK as to why a cashless facility cannot be availed. 5) I spoke with the following set of people - (Bhushan/Chirag/Shariq/Usha/Ganesh/Mitesh/Shariq/Gayatri etc etc) & the last call lasted for 40 mins to get thru, and I did not get a logical or a sensible response once again. 6) Following are the responses which I received from the people mentioned above: a. Send scanned copy of the policy & last premium paid receipt b. Duration of the ailment c. First consultation papers by doctor d. Pre-planned not possible in this policy e. Get the required docs & we will get approval of cashless f. Someone said that she needs to get admitted in the hospital for cashless g. Got admitted on 1st feb 2011 & we get the following response today: Patient needs to be admitted in hospital for 24 hrs & post that only they will process for cashless-though no guarantee for the same. What is evident here is that no person answering calls is equipped to do so and in my experience even sounds qualified to do so. Each and every person lacked the knowledge of the product they were dealing with and had no clear understanding of the terms and conditions of the policies. I had also written to the Chief Grivience Officer on the 28th Jan 2011, and am still awaiting a response to my mail. Finally sent a mail to Mr. Jayant Dua who supposedly is the CEO-but yet awaiting a response from him as well-SUBSTANIATES THE FACT THAT ITS AN ABSOLUTE BUREACRATIC SET UP-IT STEMS FROM THE TOP SUGGEST DO NOT TAKE BIRLA SUNLIFE POLICIES EVER. IN THE PAST I HAVE AVAILED OF CASHLESS FACILITIES(WITH OTHER CO'S) & IT DIDNT TAKE ME MORE THAN 2 HRS TO GET REQUIRED APPROVALS AS AGAINST THESE GUYS WHO TOOK AGES.
