Is this a scam? and if so does anyone know how corrective action can be taken agianst these people?
I have definitely not entered myself into any contest or lottery draw so, my name being picked for a prize is either a miracle, which I don't believe it is or, someone tying to make a fast buck on me.

I have read all the above e-mails, but none has responded confirming it as scam or true, I too got the same e-mail . I feel its scam, coz, when the email originated from BMW.org, they had asked us to contact some id with hotmail, why so, why not same [protected]@bmw.org ??

This is totally a spam mail, just want to collect your personall information, so that they can sell it to other companies...so that those companies can contact you for latest promotions and sales, call center are mojor in these companies

This is really a SPAM mail sent randomly.
Some times have trojans/worms.

If you simply say reply, if the mail have any images from its mail server it will try to download those images, thus the person who sent you the mail knows that the email address really exists and start issueing your email address for other marketting persons (selling the confirmed email ids).

Other wise if you have replied to this mail, then please forgot your email id.
the person will start sending you too many spam mails daily, from different mail address, even if you mark it as a SPAM, again and again you will receive these kind of mails from different names.

Those people hide their IP, and use some sort of email software for sending 1000's of mails at the same time, to a random people with random email ids.

Please be careful when receiving such mails, just mark it as SPAM / delete it without opening / downloading any attachments.

Once if you opened / downloaded the attachments that's all, forgot your e-mail id.

First of all, we should not accept money which we never worked for. Apart from this concept, Mails like above are completely spam and sent to emailids who are in third world countries. Cyber crime Officials has to take enough steps to stop such frauds.

Regarding above matter, I would like to say that mail received all of you is a scam. I am also receving same mails. What I did is started deleting them or ignoring them or mark them as spam.

That is best way lower down these mails. Dont send any details to them else you will be trapped.
