The bills for the month of Apr & May are as follows
April 2008, Download 24.1, Upload 18.7, Total GB 42.9, Rs 42001
May 2008, Download 7.21, Upload 5.98. Total GB 13.2, Rs 13017
I have registered complaint with BSNL and received reply as actual usage. Reasons for huge up/downloads is not clarified even after reminders. The services are discontinued however, min bill is continued. In view of court notice threat I have to pay the bills along with late fee.
I have not used connection for online entertainment, downloading audio / videos, Commercial usage, etc nor, shared Modem. Therefore, trust overall usage to be below 1 GB only.
Please help me out and advice to avoid recurrence

Sir, I am R/o Bhanudas Nagar Chanai Tq. Ambajogai having Land line Telephone No.[protected] . I have been using Boroadband Internet since last one year. I have opted for Home Plan @ Rs.250. My average monthly bill is around 600-800. But this month i.e. for the month of December 08 the bill has been charged as Rs.3799/- which is far excess than my usual bills. I suspect there is something wrong in the process of billing specially in respect of the bill shown towards the broadband usage charges and the amount of data shown. Please kindly look in to the matter and revise the bill immediately.
I too have experienced the same. My July usage showed 39 GB extra and have been charged Rs 24000/-. Now, after the complaints, I was suggested to go for Samadhan scheme and after all the settlement, I still have to pay Rs 12000/-. I am also trying to see what are the alternatives that I am left with. My details are as follows:

1. DataOne user for more than two years and have never had a case of excess usage in spite of Skype usage.
2. Suddenly from June, started getting excess usage and have paid Rs 4000/-.
3. From July onwards, started getting crazy bills charging Rs 24000/- etc.
4. Wanted to test if the recording of data by BSNL is fine or not. So, removed all unsecured access. Kept the modem switched off when not in use. To my shock, on the 5 days of trial where we noted down the times of modem being kept on, the BSNL data usage shows usage during hours where the Modem was OFF. In one instance, the BSNL portal shows an usage of 300 MB downl load, when the modem was OFF.
5. The local customer relationship officers have reduced the bills by half, but even then, the charges are highly unacceptable. Now I have to see what best I can do...
