I have received a phone bill showing usage of Internet too high.
The amount is INR 7390.
The user is only a student studying in std. X
It is not possible to get this much usage of internet.
The BSNL has issued the bill of INR. 8555 which includes the above amount.

I need to have a detailed usage of internet during the month of Dec. 2007.
I am having BSNL Broadband connection at my residence. There is no provision to track the broad-band usage. Incidentally, my usage was within the broadband rental (Rs.250/month) upto Jan-08. But for the month of Feb-08, I find broadband usage chargge of Rs.568/- which is highly unjustifiable as there was much lesser usage compared to previous months. There is no proper response from BSNL and nobody is owning the responsibility.
Nobody is there to take the billing complaint on telephonically. I have tried many times to the billing complaint Telephone but there was no response.

Much before providing me Dataone Broadband internet service,
it was already heavily in use by some Hacker. BSNL bill for January 2008 to me
was abnormally high because of this. When I brought this to their
notice, they do not accept and still send huge bill for March 08
also. I cannot pay for services not used by me, nor, I wish to be
cheated this way by BSNL after creating in me full confidence in
their service. Though I requested for separate Bills for Internet and Telephone
in my application, they have clubbed it and showing arrears.
They should rather compensate me, a senior citizen,
for the torture they have given this way.
I totally agree with u. I have a plan which was well within the specified limits for 7 months. Since Mar 08, There is an enormous surge in the uage, which subsequently is leading to a huge bill running to thousands. The response from the dept is useless or outright rude and they insist that I had used it, since the connecion is bound to my modem. However, they dont have technical ansywers to my queries and they are saying I need yo pay up.

I m just irritated since the usage surge is associated with my internet going down and I call support who give the same password and that is an easily guessable one with the combination like 3 char of city, 3 chanracters of the user ID and numbers, which can be easily cracked if they know the format and everyone in the dept know the sequesnce. If I change my password. my interent stops working and the password is again reset to teh default.

Written complaint has not elicited any response and whn I spoeak to their helpdesk, I m asked to convert to unlimited 750/- plan. I suspect a nexus, trying to push people on 250 and 500 plan to unlimited by resorting to this tactic. The help desk is insisting on me paying the bill or converting to 750, while not getting to the root cause of this problem. They are trying to avoid the complaint by asking me to switch over to 750, since I wud not care any more abt the usage, since it unlimited

My bill is being excess charged by your company for the March & April month. So please take care of this incorrect billing & suggests me what to do about this matter.
BSNL has provided a way to assess your own browsing attitude and to measure your session to session usage of mb. perhaps these high side bills could have been avoided had u paid a little attention to the procedure prescribed. now there is an unlimited plan of 750 INR per month which will cater all your high side requirements. I feel and believe that BSNL is the best service with great reliability high speed and accurate billing. HOpe u enjoy more broadband with bsnl

I applied for a BSNL home 500 broadband connection on phone 2420592 and got it on 21 feb, 2008.But I have not received a single bill till now.At last BSNL disconnects my internet connection without any notice and more to my surprise when I inquired for a duplicate bill, I found that 3961/- Rupees for 3 month bill and modem charges.

But according to my calculation the bill should be

Modem charge=1200(bought modem from BSNL)
+
3 month internet charge=(500+12% tax) x 3
+
call charges + rental= 0 (as in home 500 plan there is no extra charge for phone or any rental )
= 2880

If added service charge for modem then 2880+144=3124 Maximum.

But according to BSNL bill,

on[protected]=1998 + (SC)40 + 125 =2163
on[protected]=754 + (SC)20 + 125 = 909
on[protected]=754 + 125 =889
total=3961/- Rupees

I have been using broad band for the last four months in the Rs.250/- home plan scheme.The first month bill was Rs.1200.Second moth it came aboutRs.2200/- third month it was Rs.4500/-.At this time I changed it to Home plan 500.Even after that my bill was Rs.5496/- As I am an ordinary house wife, I do not know what my user id or pass word for the broad band. I use it only for one or two hours a day. Please help me...

my self jayesh patel i have broad band at home and not usage at more much but i got the bill amount for 1month 689 rupess. this is largest bill bcoz i always get the bill nearst nearest minimum 250 it is horrible . and no one person in bsnl to give right advice or not take my telephone call. im tired about that. so what i do?

Subject: Excess billing on broadband usage for month of July 2008 on Telephone Number - ALK – 2343139

Dear Gentlemen,
It was shocking to receive a bill amount of this kind as my usage is very limited and specific.
We as professionals are not equipped to keep a check on hacking of password nor have the time to fight and look for the loop holes in your system.
I have paid the bill in protest and will discontinue the services if this kind of bills is received in the coming months. I understand that a customer of my size does not make any different to BSNL but the bill of this size makes a big difference to us.
We could not get the debit detail for the June month as we did not receive the detail bill by mail and duplicate bill does not give the details.
It is also surprising for the company of the size BSNL is that there is no system in place from the telecom company to HELP the customer.
1. The customer should be giving an option o[censored]sing the broadband service from one telephone number only so that the hacker cannot misuse it.
2. Secondly there should be a credit limit for the customer’s usage so that they are not shocked by this kind of bills.
3. Thirdly a company of BSNL size should be able to handle and track down the misuse of information / data.
4. Provide us with the detail usage of the broadband (or the Link if available on the internet) in the month bills.
I understand that u will we pressed with complains of this nature but it will be of great help i[censored] could look into the details personally and reply on the same.

sir,
I am using 500c plan. In this plan during 2am to 8am usage is free. But many days they are charged me during free period, and got excess bill of around Rs.4000. I complained to BSNL, but they didn't corrected my bill.
i request you to take necessary actions. my consumer no. is 3402495. I have a excel document downloaded from their site to prove the calculation error.

I can understand your problem and agree with your every words
that they have to fix a usage limit and we are not at all countable for them

my self Praveen Mandal I'm working with Aviva Life insurance comp ltd as an sales manager and also doing MBA from ICFAI distance learning course.

I have taken BSNL broadband connection[protected] in Home 250 Plan for my MBA studies and within a month I have submitted a application for change plan to unlimited one i.e. Home 900+ on 14/02. BSNL officials accepted my application and assured me that will be changed soon and only next day I have received a call from BSNL officials mentioning that plan have been changed. So, I started using it as a unlimited one.
But to my surprise I have received a bill on 16/03 with Amount Rs. 50000/- as my usage charge, I rushed to the official and to ask the complete detail they told me that I have used so I have to pay the same. I rushed to DM with written complaint and to my surprise they handed over me a debit note dated 14/02 itself of Rs. 900/-. He assured me everything will be corrected just meet CAO, from that day three to four days a week i'm visiting CAO & IFA for requesting to correct the same.

but all things gone to vein they declared me defaulter and issued a letter to all telecom companies and cc to me that not to issue any connection to me.

Then I contacted lawyer he suggested me not to go to consumer forum as I don't have much mony for security deposit and to wait.
Now I have received a summon-letter mentioning that I have to be in court on 18/12 for the legal case against me.

I got a broadband connection in August/2008.The billing was normal upto Oct/08 i.e.Landline chrage +dataone chrage 250.But suddenly in the month of Dec/2008 they have have submitted a bill of Rs.51000/- as arrear as usage charges saying that uses charges were not counted by them due to the software problem in the previous month.Plz advice me what to do.
For me the broadband usage in Jan-2009 bill is as below:

NET AMOUNT PAYABLE IN THIS BILL 1160.00
TOTAL CALL CHARGE 0.00
MONTHLY FIXED CHARGE 120.00
SERVICE TAX 123.89
OTHER CHARGES/ADJUSTMENT 916.11

Whereas the total broadband usage i.e. Chargeable Units(MB) Excluding Night Unlimited is 715.79

As i have a 1GB i.e. 250 rupees connection so, it will never cross Rs. 250/-

Interestingly i found all BSNL bills has the span of last day of earlier month to last day of current month. so, they may charge last day in both the bill.

What can i do?

I am a subscriber to BSNL broadband connection under the HOME 250 plan. My regular usage bill doesn't exceed the basic amount. In august I wad billed for usage of Rs.2655 in addition to the minimum charges. My complaintof 25-Sep-2008 was replied stating that "Broad Band usage throughout for the above period is from the same port and PC only", without mentioning the usage details. When asked for the details I was told that the same can be viewed from the bsnl port, which when I log on displays the message FORBIDDEN ZONE. Kindly advise me on this.
