traffic — City traffic
Respect sir, I live born this city and I love this city a lot.Where the government making the traffic role for vehicles. But at that same time there is no parking signal. There is a compulsory thalawala are panipori are intercity are same so kind plz do needful.
Police arrogance is nothing new. We basically need to analyse the problem at its roots. Even I was fined Rs.100/- for parking under the bridge near Panagal Park.
Ironically, just before minutes I paid the penalty, I saw a car with Red lamp with a 'three star' plate blocking the road at the turning towards Pothys showroom. The driver in a police uniform was guarding the vehicle. All this was happening at around 1745 hrs in the evening of 26.10.12. One can easily understand that the car belongs to a very high ranking police officer probably in the rank of a commissioner. Now, who is to penalise the top cop for the parking at such a busy place, when people are trying to negotiate a curve at such a peak hour? Will the sergeant dare to levy the penalty for the officer who enjoys the facility of a three- starred car? The Chief secretary of Tamilnadu Government may please note this.
The problem should be rooted out by keeping 'Parking zones' aplenty than 'No Parking' areas. The duty doesn't end with penalising the public, but the police should specifically address the problem of providing parking zones for car owners. The government should facilitate abundant parking zones if people are to be deterred from parking their cars in 'No Parking' Zones.
The government should play a proactive role in curbing the problem and should be a 'part of the solution, not a part of the problem'. Mere exercise of authority doesn't suffice. Again, what about the law enforcer, who has broken the law in the above instance as mentioned in paragraph 2?
Venkat.

Traffic Piled up from Airport to OTA-
The traffic between Airport to OTA have been heavy for last one year due to metro work near OTA. Neither they are not widening the footpath nor they allow inside the OTA for easy diversion of traffic. Everyday morning, we spend about more 1 hour to cross the traffic for streatch of 2KM. Look at the waste of time or waste diesel/petrol and waste of national economy.
There are ways, in which the they can easily regulate the traffic.
1. Between Cementary Road Signal and OTA, they can remove the footpath, and broaden the road so that the both traffic from ORR as well as GST traffic can be easily bu-passed.
2. Allow the traffic through OTA during the peak hours.
3. Widen the fencing near the station, where the work is happening on both sides.
4. Allow more time for the green signal for GST traffic in Cementary Road Signal

chennai city traffic Police — too much diversions
we already have a diversion near park hotel and cenatoph road. why another? because of this new diversion, i reached my office half an hour late. will the traffic police bear my deduction in my salary? please no more diversions. these diversions have increasded the traffic rather than decreasing it.
