[Resolved]  Citibank — Cheating Customers

Dear Sir,

This is to inform that citibank is cheating customer in name of Minimum Monthly balance for Rs. 25000/-. i am citibank customer for 9 years now. Recently i got a communication that i need to maintain the monthly average balance. As per the communication i maintained the Rs. 25000/- cap. But to my astonishment i saw i was charged Rs 250/- Service charge. When i questioned citibank the stupid answer i got was they calculate from 28th of every month to next month 28th. This was not communicated to the customers at all. When questioned why i got a blunt answer it is not citibank policy to inform the customer.

All citibank customers beware! they can cheat you right under your nose.

I think the world is revolving two days late for citibank when they say about monthly average balance. When we talk about month it should 1st to 30th. But this is not the case. Look out for these cheats who are howling on our hard earned money. I am not sure whether somebody from citibank is looking into this. but atleast all citibank customers look out.......

I had same experience. I cancelled my account. I think that is the maximum customer can do.
I too got cheated by Citibank. First, they started charging surcharges for transactions they were not supposed to charge on and on the card they were not supposed to treat that way. Second, they have charged an annual maintainece charge of 500rs even though I was told, at the time of applying, that it is a life time free credit card. Really, these buggers are looting us. We should treat these people a big lesson. I'm tired of calling up customer care and complaining. Now, I'll just throw the card and ignore all their bill intimations.
They are big time cheater. I had blocked my card and applied for new one. After all the communication they disconected they call and i thought it's because everything is conveyed.
After this i got my card blocked but didn't recieve the new card.
I thought they are not able to issue new card to me because of some issue. And my card also got delinked from my saving account.
Now after 6 months they are asking me to pay 1123 towards membership fee. when i asked if you didnt give me the new card how can i make remaining 7k purchses to get eligible for membership waiver, they siad your call was disconnected so we couldn't process your request. Now the question is if they didn't process my request how my card got blocked?
In first 4-5 months i made purchses worth 23k and a total transaction of 30k could waive off my membership but just because they didn't process my request and neither intimated anything to me that my request would not be processed because the call got disconnected.
The only mistake i had is i didn't call the many times to inquire about my request and only reason for this is i feel it so irritating to call the citibank customer care for there unprofessional response and wastage of time.
