Dear Forum,

I along with my wife had made a trip from Kolkata to Ahmedabad to attend the marriage ceremony of my relative in December 2009. The ticket for the said trip has been made through Cleartrip on October 06, 2009. Out of the various alternative provided we had purchased the two tickets for Kolkata to Ahmedabad (IC7618) scheduled on December 10, 2009 and two tickets from Ahmedabad to Kolkata (IC7617) scheduled on December 15, 2009.

Now after one months Air India has informed us that they had cancelled the flight on Kolkata - Ahmedabad route and is provided two alternative i.e first either take tickets for the connecting flight through Mumbai or secondly take the full refund of the ticket. However both the alternative is not suitable for my requirement. Because there is a difference of 8 hours between the connecting flight and the company is not providing any accomodation nor food. The flight from Kolkata to Mumbai will reach at 8:40 A.M. amd the Flight from Mumbai to Ahmedabad is scheduled at 16:40 Hrs. Secondly the ticket has been booked at very low prices and the prices of the ticket for the same route has been increased by Rs 2000'- per tickets resulting to the financial loss of Rs 8,000/-

Request you to please intervene in the said matter and provide us the justice.

    I booked train tickets using cleartrip.com on 27 Oct, 2009.

    As part of their promotion going on that time, I was eligible for Diamond vouchre worth Rs.4000.00 of Surat diamonds. I was informed that the voucher will be send to my email within 5 days of my booking

    Regret to state that I have not yet received the vouchers till date & any calls to their customer care no.s are not answered/ not addressed.

    Hope that they improve their services in future, but for the time being I don't recommend cleartrip for any of the travel related services.

    They have also made a fraud regarding the commitment of amenities to be provided and there customer support is a pain. Gone through a horrible experience. From 2009 to 2011 they have not improved a little. To avoid horrible experience please don't use cleartrip.

      Cleartrip is a fraud company. I am using services of this company from last 1 year. In last month I booked an air ticket from this company and in fare rules it was clearly mentioned this is a refundable fare. Due to personal reasons I cancelled the ticket but they are showing refund amount as Rs. 0.

      If refund amount is Rs 0, this means it was a non-refundable ticket but they fooled me by mentioning it as refundable. Still in my Cleartip account it is showing cancelled ticket as refundable but refund amount is Rs 0.

      I lost my Rs 7000 but don't know what to do. I'll suggest others not to use Cleartrip.

        I HAD TRIED TO BOOK THE AIR TICKET FROM BOMBAY TO KOLKATA BUT THERE WAS SOME PROBLEM IN THE PORTAL OF CLEAR TRIP THEY DEBITED THE AMOUNT AND DID NOT BOOK THE TICKET AND GIVE MAIL REPY THAT THERE IS SOME PROBLEM AND TICKET IS NOT BOOKED YOU WILL BE GIVEN FULL AMOUNT REFUDN IN 24 HOURS THIS MAIL I GOT ON 18TH OF SEPT 2009 . PROBLEM ALSO OCCURED ON 17TH OF SEPT 2009.
        BUT TILL TODAY I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE AMOUNT BACK IN MY ACCOUNT. TODAY I CALLED THEM THENTHEY WERE REPLYING THAT THERE IS SOME INTERNET PROBLEM SO CALL AFTER 1-2 HOUR AFTE 1-2 HOUR NO BODY IS REPLYING WHAT SHOUDL I DO FOR THIS?

          I planned to travel from Bangalore to Delhi. For booking tickets I normally used to book through cleartrip.com because here at on site I can get fair of almost all flights and I can choose according to my convenient timings and fares.


          But with my current experience I have decided never to see cleartrip. When I searched through cleartrip for the fare I got minimum price as 5721.00 for indigo flight and booked it. I somehow accidently searched for the same flight at indigo and to my surprise the fare was 2799.00 . When I brought this issue in notice to clear trip customer care they started arguing instead of helping me.

          I have attached screen shots for fares shown on cleartrip and those shown on indigo website. Pls have a look you will be able to make out the difference.

          I could have made mistake many times but only came to know recently. So better late then never.

          Pls beware of these kind of issues , best to avoid cleartrip.

          Dear Mr. Sanjay,
          I have seen both the photos and the fare is almost same.On indigo site 2799Rs. is base fare AND FULL fare including tax and other charges is Rs. 5688 and is shown in left side of the photo. I suggest this is a confusion to you.

          Look at the left side on the indigo website. The fare is Rs. 5, 688. Cleartrip, on the other hand, shows you the fare upfront.
          company should b banned...all airline should b aware of this agency...so many frauds...without intimation they are deducting the amount from customer...huge fine should imposed on the company...
          bad customer service...they never give proper response thru mail nor phone...they always postpone the status...and managers also hopeless...CLEAR TRIP are cheaters...so many people are facing these kind of problems..Indian govt. should take sever action on this cheaters

            On 07.09.09 ,I was booking ticket on-line using cleartrip.com site for flight from kolkata to hyderabad for 16th oct,09.payment was released from my a/c thru netbanking for rs 2405.00 vide SBI ref. no. IG10713107 to cleartrip.com transaction account , but ticket did not release.I tried to contact thru telephone but no response. Neither mone has been sent back to my a/c till 7-25 pm of 09.09.09.Please help me to get back the money.My mobile no is 0-[protected]
            Actually none of the online travel agents can be held accountable for such problems in cancellation or extra money being charged.

            The safest thing is to book directly on the airline sites by using sites such as ixigo.com that search across all airline sites and redirect you on airline websites to complete the booking. That way you will only deal directly with airlines and not get harassed for cancellation charges or service fees.

              Booked a ticket for Delhi-London-Delhi. They took out money from my Account, but the ticket is not confirmed, and now they are saying the rates have gone up.

              It seems they don't have a Online System, and are a Fraud Outfit, taking out money from people's account, and using it.

              Consumers need to get together, and see to it that this company is shut down, and they do not fraud more, innocent customers.

              From 2009 to 2011 they have not improved a little and is still running based on the money the get by fraud. They have made a fraud regarding the commitment of amenities to be provided and there customer support is a pain. Gone through a horrible experience. To avoid horrible experience please don't use cleartrip.

                Dear All,

                I have booked a train ticket on 23/04/2009 through www.cleartrip.com. Due some reason i wanted to cancel that ticket so went for a cancellation option and it was not working, so i called up their office and ask them to cancel it, they said they will do and as precautinery measure they ask me to drop a mail to Indian Railway also, which i did.

                Today after almost 90 days and numuros calls to cleartrip i have not got my refund. every time you write to them you will get a standard answer that our concern dept. is looking into it and will get back to you.

                Fellows beware while you deal with such companies.

                  I tried to book my ticked on 4th July 2009, but due to the error came on website my transaction got stopped in middle. But Rs 3, 988 got deducted from my account.

                  Since morning I was tried to contact customer care but nobody was picking the phone. Finally one of the executive picked the phone and promised me to resolved the query within 2 Hours. But nothing happed in that 2 hours.

                  I tried many times to contact customer care but I didn’t got any favorable response. At last at 6:00 PM that told that they are going to cancel my ticked and refund my amount. Till 7:00PM I have not received the conformation

                  This is the final latter I am sending to cleartrip and in future I will make sure that none of my friend use this site for flight reservation.

                  I also request government to stop such sites. There should be stick law for such types of sites.

                  This is happenging because RBI followed a new rule of vbv payement gateways so after 2 days it will be as-usual.From Future donot try this site there are a lot of websites for travels.Happy Journey.
                  I just booked a flight (Cleartrip Trip ID[protected] and made the payment by credit card. However, during the booking, due to server problem, I was having disruptions. In the process, I missed out mentioning the coupon code (DM[protected] that I am holding. I request you to make the cash back and send a confirmation. Thanks.

                  As far as the booking failure is concerned, I would not agree with Aman as RBI mandate has come into picture 3 days back and Abhishek made a booking on 4-July-09. And Yes, our site is complete secured to handle such dual authentication transactions.

                  Samarjit - Cash of Rs.250/- has been credited to your account on 23-July-09.
                  I tried to book my ticked on 7th Dec 2010, but due to the error came on website my transaction got stopped in middle.and again i tried to do the same from another account. But Rs 469 got deducted from my accounts and in another account also i found deducted of rs 469.
                  I informed to customer care department, they have assured that to solve the issue within two hours. kindly consider this complaint also as i am request to you necessary action immediately.

                    I had booked train ticket on 5/5/09 as a guest in the name of my friend sujit pattnaik from sbp to secundrabad and payment was made through net banking ( SBI ) and sum of Rs 398/- was tranfered to A/C No [protected] on the same time, but unfourtunatly my ticket was not booked nor I got the ticket nor my money, after which I contacted costomer care of cleartrip but could not contact as the number given are always out of order, so I mailed them in which it was clearlymentioned that there customer care executive will be calling me within 24 hours, but no one responed & I again mailed reularly & recieved automatic generated mails only, Now I want to get my money back.

                      I booked 4 air ticket using ClearTrip from Ahmedabad to Delhi. The Trip id is:[protected].

                      The ticket clearly states that " This ticket is classified by ClearTrip as refundable".

                      However, when I cancelled the ticket, they informed me that this is a zero base fare ticket and can not be refunded.

                      Even after speaking to the ClearTrip customer care people 2 times, I was not given any refund.

                      This is clearly a harassment by this web site. I would never recommend anyone to use ClearTrip .

                      Dear Praveen,

                      We are sorry to hear about your experience with Cleartrip.

                      Based on the records which we store, it can be concluded that the booking was made on a promotional fare (Rs.0/-) and the fare rules related to the same was clearly mentioned at the time of booking.

                      The booking was cancelled by you directly online wherein the fare rules are mentioned before cancellation.

                      This is what it states "In case of cancellation of zero base fare or promotional fare tickets, 100% of fare will be deducted/- per passenger per segment"
                      I booked train ticket through cleartrip delhi to mumbai in Jan 09. The journey wascancelled more than 24 hours before the journey and ticket deposit receipt obtained from the railways. Since then it has been a continuous state of emailing, STD calls from Delhi to Mumbai (I have probably spent more than the cost of the ticket) and total inefficiency and indifference on part of clear trip.
                      I have spoken a number of times to cleartrip train customer so called executives, Ravi Peters, Rachna, Pushpa, Shirley and many others. Cleartrip deserves an award of the top harrasment travel service in the world. The executives are poorly informed, cannot retrieve emails and documents and are only good at assuring to do the needful.
                      I happened to be in Mumbai and spoke to Shirley and Ravi Peters and asked for the Office address so that I could visit to check status. Both refused to give the address. Top executives must carry out a thorough overhaul. This is a fit case for consumer court.

                      I booked a ticket for 08.01.10 Mumbai - Ahmedabad Spice Jet 21.30. Because I had a new Credit Card (BOB Card) I had to get it registered. But somehow I was unable to register it and so I gave up. But the next day I got a message on my mobile that Rs. 3017 which was the amount of flight ticket was used. I do not have any intimation about the ticket on my email address. I have to cancel that ticket but I don't have any information regarding the same. I am unable to call on any of your toll free numbers. Please help me to know how this amount is used from my card. Please get me refund of this amount as I do not have any ticket on hand.

                      While booking a train ticket through Cleartrip, the ticket booking process was broke in between. This was done after the amount was deducted from my account.
                      I got a mail/msg from Cleartrip saying that the amount will be refunded within 24 hrs. But no response is received from Customer Support yet.

                      How can you expect a refund from this cheat organization. And yes the cleartrip customer support, I tell you that is a pain. Instead of giving support when I was in vaccation they asked me for proofs about the issue I raised. And yes strongly agree with Ravinder regarding Cleartrip claiming the top award in harrasing passengers and deviate little while he told poorly informed, actually they are having no information. Even when they asked for proofs I guided them to navigate the cleartrip website and locate the point. Even the duty Manager was not able to go there and the supervisor to him started chatting with me without even knowing the issue. A horrible experience, never go for this site.
                      Same thing has happened to me also. Repeated reminder through Customer care and Emails have not received any response from the operators Cleartrip.

                      Due to an error in our names on an International ticket; Cleartrip wanted me to cancel our tickets and re-book even though the airline had no problem with the correction in the name.
                      All Cleartrip was interested in their cancellation fees, and a new ticket.

                      Even a complaint to the CEO got no response.
                      What a third rate organization.

                      So much for customer satisfaction.

                      I would never again use nor recomend using Cleartrip.

                      I wish consumers would check the reviews before booking online .
                      Cleartrip does not refund flight ticket cost even if the flight is cancelled by the airlines. They will tell you to cancel online, but when you try to do that, cancellation won't work. It is a cheating to dupe customers.

Based on further attempt to print ticket copy using cleartrip ID stated above, the message appears that booking ID found but error resulted to issue ticket copy. plz do the needful as soon as possible to forward ticket copy to e-mail address [protected]@yahoo.com

In spite of the booking confirmation, but I have not received ticket copy and when i checked my account than the amount had deducted. Based on further attempt to print ticket copy using cleartrip ID stated above, the message appears that booking ID found, but trip does not have confirmed tickets. It is great disappointment how would that Cleartrip booking confirmation trip ID [protected] shown without tickets confirmation provided. plz do the needful as soon as possible to forward ticket copy to e-mail address [protected]@yahoo.com,

I cancelled one day prior to my journey through their app. I received an SMS also thru them stating my booking id, PNR so and so has been cancelled. But after 2 days I got to know that no amount will be refunded as only one sector of the flight has been cancelled. This is pure harassment from this particular travel agent. I have called their support staff and they are saying they will confirm wid the airline. But doesn't look like airlines fault. I could have directly booked wid the airline if I wanted this response why involve a travel agent? Their app is at fault

While searching cost showed Rs50000/(around) and within a min one person from cleartrip called me over my mobile and insisted to book it urgently and i observed the cost to be Rs60392/ .I purchased the tickets for 20th Sept. Immediately after purchse the rate became Rs50000/. Till date it has not reached to Rs 60000/. I feel something is wrong there within the cleartrip fellows. A K KHAN.

                        With the reference Trip ID No- [protected], I had booked Kingfisher flight with return from Pune-Delhi. On 7th June I had cancelled Delhi to Pune trip after taking confirmation from the airline that 750 rs. would be deducted by the airline and Clear Trip mentioned that 300 rs would be deducted by the them. I had informed the airline and clear trip that I had got return fare discount and promotional discount offered on HDFC Credit Card.

                        After cancellation I had got a response from Clear trip that within 2 working days Clear trip would get back to let me know the amount that would be returned to me and with 10-14 working day money would be reflected on card. Till now there has been no further communication from Clear Trip. Its been more than 2 months. and I am still awaiting for response on how much amount I would get.

                        I made the first call on 20th June and was informed that within 5 days they would get back to me. I waited for 2 weeks but there was no communication then I made a call on 1st of July and I was told it would further take 8-10 days because their IT team is working on it. Later I dropped an email stating this whole scenario and got no response from the cleartrip.com.
                        Recently I was informed that Cleartrip is still waiting to get the refund from the Kingfisher Airline but when I checked with the Airline I have been told that nothing is pending from their side.

                        Could you please do the needful to get the money refunded from the website.

                          I booked ticket with 'cleartrip' for my wife and child (Mumbai-London-Mumbai), yesterday. I chose them over other options to buy from 'makemytrip', other agents and the Airlines directly. Infact they were costlier than 'makemytrip' even post negotiations.

                          I paid them Rs 53, 500/- within 2 hrs of the confirmation and submitted all the documents as desired by them much ahead of 6.00 PM deadline define by them which was duly acknowledged by them.

                          However instead of delivering / mailing me the tickets they initiated a blackmail in the in the late evening (night infact) asking for additional amount and threatening to refund the entire amount knowing fully well that the rates elsewhere would have gone up drastically.

                          They were also calling from a number which could not be reached back leaving me in a dilemma. I immediately corresponded with them and send them my POV which was

                          No change in the airline
                          No change in the date of travel
                          No additional payment
                          No refund

                          I also gave them a time limit which has not been honored.

                          I would like you to guide me on how do I protect myself.

                            I booked an airline ticket on cleartrip using citibank netbanking.My ticket has not been booked and amount has been deducted from my account.When i call cleartrip they say citibank has not deposited amount in our account so we cannot confirm your tickets.Whe i call citibank they say we have deposited the amount and it is a mistake on their part. so both the companies are playing blame game on each other.                             I had a similar experience, just now.

                            Booked a ticket for Delhi-London-Delhi. They took out money from my Account, but the ticket is not confirmed, and now they are saying the rates have gone up.

                            It seems they don't have a Online System, and are a Fraud Outfit, taking out money from people's account, and using it.

                            Consumers need to get together, and see to it that this company is shut down, and they do not fraud more, innocent customers.

                                This is with reference to my request for cancellation of Deccan Airlines ticket no.8370058. I had booked the ticket on 17th Aug 2008 for three passengers--Mr.V N Purushothaman Pillai, Mrs.Vimala Pillai and Ms.Pankajakshiamma Pillai for a journey from Kochi to Mumbai. The travel date being 24th Nov 2008. But due to personal reasons the it was not possible to travel on the given dates.Hence, on Nov 4th or 7th Approx i had personally called up hte Airlines call centre executive for cancellation of the ticket and i was ensured that the tickets were cancelled and a sum of Rs.10575/- will be credited to my credit card a/c (since payment was made through credit card) within 14 days, which is still not credited to by a/c. Request you to kindly provide me with the ticket status and cancellation confirmation date so that i can claim the amount from Cleartrip through whom i had booked the ticket.                                   I had tried book three tickets (Tatkal) on the 19th of January 2009 (Monday), from Madurai to Chennai in Guruvayur Express (6128). The entire ticket booking process was not completed, however the money, amounting to Rs. 1145.00 was debited from my ICICI credit card account. The money has still not yet been credited back to my account.

                                  I booked a ticket on October 1, 2008 for a round trip of Delhi - Cairo. The tickets were canceled on Dec 11, 2008. Since it was a paper ticket, I sent the ticket the very next day to Cleartrip office in Mumbai via a courier, which was received on Dec 15, 2008 by cleartrip officials.

                                  I was promised that within 14 working days I will receive my refund and till now I haven't. I have calling up the officials at cleartrip on a daily basis and what I hear is that, the Airlines have not refunded the money to cleartrip.

                                  Why do I have to suffer in all this? Since its a big amount, I am having trouble paying back the credit card money.

                                  I booked 4 air ticket using ClearTrip from Ahmedabad to Delhi. The Trip id is:[protected].

                                  The ticket clearly states that " This ticket is classified by ClearTrip as refundable".

                                  However, when I cancelled the ticket, they informed me that this is a zero base fare ticket and can not be refunded.

                                  Even after speaking to the ClearTrip customer care people 2 times, I was not given any refund.

                                  This is clearly a harassment by this web site. I would never recommend anyone to use ClearTrip .

                                  2 Room no 103 had water leaking from the ceiling throughout the night.

                                  3. Nobody attended for the water leakage problem.

                                  4. Hotel is offering 10% discount to all the Customers fro Standard Rooms but no discount was offered by Cleartrip.

                                  5. Standard Rooms are 1200/- per night and u have charged Rs 4638/- for three Rooms.

                                  6. Wood Stocks for Fire Cooking were just piled up outside our Rooms.

                                  7. No ventilation in the rooms as the Rooms is in the Garage area and completely closed.



                                  Please revert immediately and refund the amount for Kodaikanal or else the matter will be escalated.

                                    I had a telecon discussion with ClearTrip for my Air ticket reshedulling from 20th of nov2008 to 21st Nov 2008.The TripId was[protected].But they didnt did.On 21st when I made a call to Indigo abt it they said that there is no such request from ClearTrip.Due to which I have to miss my flight as well as I have to bear the cost of it.
                                    On the 21st I asked the same with Cleartrip they started saying there was technicall fault with the site so things couldnt happened.
                                    So if the problem was with cleartrip side why should I pay for it.
                                    So I request you to take action against it.

                                    We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.

                                    Rescheduling is an additional service provided by Cleartrip. When you called us on 19th Nov'08, there was an issue from the Airline's end due to which we were not able to reschedule your flight.

                                    Since rescheduling is possible by contacting the Airline directly, you were requested to do the same.

                                    You then called us on 21st Nov'08 to get a past dated flight rescheduled which was not possible as per the Airline rules.

                                      I tried to book my ticked on 4th July 2009, but due to the error came on website my transaction got stopped in middle. But Rs 3, 988 got deducted from my account.

                                      Since morning I was tried to contact customer care but nobody was picking the phone. Finally one of the executive picked the phone and promised me to resolved the query within 2 Hours. But nothing happed in that 2 hours.

                                      I tried many times to contact customer care but I didn’t got any favorable response. At last at 6:00 PM that told that they are going to cancel my ticked and refund my amount. Till 7:00PM I have not received the conformation

                                      This is the final latter I am sending to cleartrip and in future I will make sure that none of my friend use this site for flight reservation.

                                      I also request government to stop such sites. There should be stick law for such types of sites.

                                      I agree. Cleartrip is fraud. At the time of booking ticket they will show you tickets as refundable but at the time of cancellation they'll tell you that this is not refundable. I lost my Rs 7000 due to this. This is a fraud company and there is no way to stop them from doing fraud. If anyone knows how to ban this company please let me know. I'll take the action.

                                        We booked four tickets to Andamans which cost us around 40000. Our trip was scheduled on 5th of December. Unfortunately, my father met with an accident and we will not be able to make it for the trip. Now, the Clear trip is deducting 30000 and returned 10000 which is supposed to paid as service charges and taxes. Is it legal and ethical to retain the ticket charges? If not, how can I get back the balance of the amount?
