Cleartrip.com while offering the EMI scheme for booking International tickets provide 3/6 month option. On selecting the monthly payment for the same the total pending transaction is divided by 3 or 6 respectively and the consumer would hungrily lap up the EMI offer. But when the transaction happens, the bank separately charges an EMI Conversion fee, which is not mentioned anywhere. In my scenario, I am ending up paying Rs 1300/- more for taking up the EMI option, which I would not have if I would have know I would be charged extra for a Rs 36000/- transaction . Now I am ending up paying 40% p.a interest without any fault of mine. This is a major scam and I request you to look into it and save many others who fall for this scam of EMI offers.
