LOL I just found out the solution. The num pad key has been activated :P
Just press the function (fn) and the num lk key .. and the keyboard will be ok.. :D

Thanks Praneta! I had the same problem just now, I thought I needed to have a technician over my laptop and yes it, the num pad lock key has been activated. Glad I was able to find this page. Now I at peace :))

Thank you! I was having this issue everytime my laptop went to sleep since I had connected a USB keyboard. I'm just glad it was as simple as numlock.

i have problem that keypad is not functioning well. some keys remain press automatically... and some are not functioning properly(such as backspace is not working).

Compaq — Problem on keyboard
I have purchased a Compaq Notebook on 7th November, 2008.Model No. CQ60104TU.On 22nd Nov 2008 suddenly with a minor pressing my left CTRL key gets broken.When I rushed to the Service center as my product is within Warranty period, they returned the product saying that it would cost Rs.2080 to solve the problem.I got dishearten about the brand and lost hope wiyh their behaviour.
