its true i also experience this type of conditions many times, last week i was coming from LTT terminals to kurla stn - he took Rs60, at morning time they doesn, t use meter at 6.10 am and they say lump sum, mumbai taraffic police are present but they doesn, t take any action in front of them is this happening. when u say to auto driver about the complaint then they argue and nothing will happen of that complaint.

I wanted to take rickshaw for internation airport from pinky talkies andheri(East). Rickshawala told me he can take me to airport but not according to meter reading. I have to pay him extra for that, when I refused and asked bout the law he started quarreling with me and told me to take him to police chowky(ulta chor qotwal ko daante). He also told me that hamara hafta jato hai tumhari complain ka kuch nahi ho sakta hai. His Rickshaw no is MH-02 SA 1540 and he usually park his rickshaw at pinky talkies lane.I hope law will take care of this type of persons who thinks that law can be buy at anytime in india. I hope authorities will punish this person and set an example that nothing is above law.

Yesterday I was waiting for the auto at Bandra (E) junction.I asked one Auto rickshaw driver to drop me at Kalanagar. He was not paying attention to me as he didn't want to go for such a small distance. when I told him that i will take to the RTO, he simple said "Jake karo compliant, woh kya ukhad lega?" then he waited at the panvala. After some time two people asked him for Santacruz and he simply agreed. These drivers only look for the big fare... they are not ready to come for the short distance.. what are we supposed to do if we want to go to the place which is not that near to walk down...
I would suggest please make a compulsion or give us some number where we can call and complaint immediately.

I was travelling from andheri to malad via highway, i've travelled the same way before many times so i know the meter comes to around 40 rs for the route i use.
this auto i used came to 70 rs!!! clearly a case of meter tampering - i could see that the numbers were ticking away too fast.
digital tamper-proof meters should be introduced in mumbai to prevent meter tampering.

YES, it's not new, every one knows very well including ministers, those rickshaw drivers especially form UP & BIHAR are cheaters, anti social elements & they are not afraid of law & police. They want to run their business as per UP & BIHAR norms. They do not want to maintain law & order in Mumbai.

some very very strict norms/guidelines to decide their ability & performance & RTO should also ask for executing BOND for at least 2- 5 lacs INR as a security deposit. Apart from cancelling their driving license, deposit should also be confiscated if complain receive more than 1 /2 times
Very simple, if auto rickshaw drivers from UP & BIHAR do not want understand law & order & respect laws, THEN WHY SHOULD THEY BE IN MUMBAI CITY, their Batch No. & Driving Licences should be CANCELLED immediately without any notice & their Auto Rickshaw should also be confiscated without any further delay & BLACK LISTED for ever.

Yesterday(11/10/2010). Me and my mom wanted to goto andheri station from my place(andheri) by auto rickshaw .
Every single Rickshaw driver was refusing us to take to the destination. Because the distance was too short for him.
Finally we got frustrated and took the Number of 1 rickshaw for refusing to travel.

We are facing serious problem of rickshaw drivers refusing to ply in Chembur, they only prefer long distance destinations, but because of mono-rail project going on, in our area, there are no - BEST buses allowed in that route.
We have no other option to wait endlessly & get & Request them to take us.
Recently my Mother was sick & had to be hospitalised...THE WORST PART, I COULD NOT GET A SINGLE AUTO-RICKSHAW, Whats the use of this Service,
I had to Stop a Private Car & He dropped me till the Hospital.
I would request the Consumer Complaint Authority to take Strict Action since this has been affecting us for more than a Year.
We are Helpless & Offen these Auto Drivers say they dont have enough GAS to Ply...If they dont have sufficient resources, Let Private Companies Start This Service too.
PLEASE TAKE SOME ACTION AGAINST THEM.
OF-LATE I Had Encounter with 1 RickShaw Driver at 11.45pm (15th Nov'2010) Late Night At Atur Park, Who was not Ready to take me...

PLEASE Kep some Hotline Number to catch these Crooks & Fine them with 1000 Rs at least Since They are Troubling People.
1st Offense - Rs 1000 should be fined & Warning.
2nd Offense - Rs 5000 & License Suspend for 4 Months.
3rd Offense - they should be arrested & Restricted from providing Service & License cancelled for Life.
If Drinking & Driving is a Crime, then Why Leave them for Proffesion in which they are earning & Taking advantage of one who is needy.
PLEASE HELP US in SOLVING this ENDLESS problem of Commuting any where in the Chembur.

at the time of incident just note down his number and rest can be done afterwards.if he gets physical then you have to contact police station. n if he is not saying yes for fare then just ask any traffic police that he is refusing fare. Action is taken in majority of cases only if you are most unlucky person then traffic cops will also not take action.lol
