Dining Plus — Cheating and Fraud by Dining Plus

I got multiple calls from Dining Plus over the last 2 days regrding Dining Plus card.

Firstly I was asked whether I hold any credit card and when replied in affirmative was asked of which bank.

Then the person on the other line started explaining the benefits and said the card comes to you at no charge. I kept on asking about the charges was was informed everytime that there is zero liability or cost on my side and the same is offered to me because of the credit card I hold. The only cost incurred by me would be the SMS cost sent to bank to request for a OTP number.

Then I was asked to send a SMS to the bank with the last 4 digits of the card. When I informed them that OTP is required only while making payments and why they require the same since no payment is involved here, they said that since the Dining Plus card is being given because of the credit card I hold this number is necessary.

I got the OTP code. I was al,so given a booking reference number ([protected]) and was asked to note it down. I was informed that I will be taken through a IVR where I have to input these details and also the credit card details. Again I informed that the same is required, only in case if I am making payment. Again I was told the same reason and said IVR was Safe.

Let me make it very clear that IVR was not audible to me at all, and I kept informing them of the same. To make their part more safer to me, they kept dialing again, but the IVR was still not audible. However I was convinced to input the details. Firstly I was asked to input the Reference number and the I wa sasked to dial 5499 (when I asked what was that for, it was said it was a code), then the card number, expiry date and CVV number.

On doing the same, the call was disconnected and to my shock I immediately received as SMS from my Credit Card company thet Rs.55499 has been charged to my account by Dining Plus.

I am extremely shocked and going through a mental torture due to this.

Have sent a mail to Dining Plus and requested to immediately cancel the same and refund the amount on priority.

This is a clear case of Cheating and fraud intentionally. Secondly, you ahve called an DNC registered number.

Stop such fraudulent activities and fooling the public.

Hope the same is resolved and my money credited immediately.
