[Resolved]  Dish TV — Horrifying customer service

My VC no is [protected] registered under my husband J Harish Kumar's name. I moved to Mumbai on the 28th Nov'09. It all started with me booking an appt for uninstalling my DTH as I was moving town. Till the last minute there was no response regarding the same. The person Amar whom i spoke on the phone to confirm he would be coming at the designated date n time. however on the day, he judt did not answer his phone n I had to call Dish Customer no. The technician came for the unistallation however couldnt remove the base from the dish n said it was ok not to take it n i would get another base when i re-install. Thats where the nighmare begun. After coming to Mumbai after several calls to DISH TV care's franchise, A-vision I finally got an appt for the same. I explained on the phone what the situation was n that I would need a new base as promised. The lady- Sakshi said she understood however i would need to pay 300 for the base.having not much choice I agreed. After numerous calls one Mr shiv came to my place n he explained i would need the grill patti, base n a new dish which would come upto 1100... It came as a shocker to me as I was first told it would not cost me anything but the re-installation charges.
A new connection costs 2000 n it seemed futile that i pay 1100. But since we had re-charged our a/c we had no choice but to agree to pay it. Another nightmare begun after this. we had to call n call n call for the technician to come for the promised appt. Calls to A-vision was absolutely useless. The unfriendly and callous attitude of the staff makes u feel so helpless. I actually had a near nervous breakdown shouting at them to get them do what was promised to me. The TL there actualy said he was supposed to come to your place but he had to send him to some other place as it was more important. I called Dish care n submittted my complaint and was told i would get am extension for the total no of days i was not able to use the services. Needless to say it has not been done. I dont want another nightmare to follow hence I dont want to call them for the same. The reason for sharing this is to make everyone aware the true side of DISH Service behind the rosy advertisements.

I advise please be ready for the nightmare when u install Dish.
