[Resolved] Electricity Bill — Bill paid not updated

I had received two nos. duplicate Electricity bills against consumer name " Anil Kumar Sharma", Flat no.- 133, firts floor front, Sector- 35, Ashoka Enclave (Main), Faridabad, for the bill month of November 2008 . Among the two bills, one bill contained all the details but the details were not clear and the bill amount was hardly visible which was Rs. 3688 . Another bill was clear but was not containing the due date. still I made the payment of Rs. 3700 /- by cheque ( through cheque no. 111618 dated 08.12.08 of Indian Overseas bank ).
In the bill of bill month, January 2009 the previous amount of 3700/- was added in the arrear column. After discussing the matter with an Elctricity board person at Ashoka Enclave, Sector -35, Faridabad collection center I came to know that the amount was not updated in their record till that date. Only after showing the bank statement, the total amount was corrected in my bill itself by hand.
All the above procedure consumes a lots of time and it will be much of great favour for the consumers, if the bills are clearly printed and the paid amounts are updated promptly.
