[Resolved]  Ganraj Motor Driving school Pune — Incomplete driving lessons, and arrogant behavior

Dear Consumer Forum board,

I had enrolled my wife for driving lessons with Ganraj Driving School Pune, Koregoan Park. The Instructor Mr. Sandip talked quite politely and showed confidence in his training capabilities, I inspected his vehicle, he had a new Maruti Wagon R with power steering, further to which we enrolled for driving class and did a mistake of paying him the complete tuition Fees in advance. Problems started on day one itself, he had taken my wife to RTO office for temporary license application, and he left her at the RTO office alone and disappeared from there without saying anything, my wife was confused and left from there without completing all the formalities. I guess he had some setup with the RTO officer and then he managed to get the temp driving license later on.

After 7-10 sessions of driving lessons his car braked down and there was no driving class for next 3 weeks, I showed my patience and waited for his car to be repaired (this was the least I could have done after paying the entire fees in advance), he kept on making excuses ever time I called him up and said his car would be ready next 2 days. After 3 weeks he has managed some old Alto car for training which was without power steering and not in the best of running condition. My wife was not comfortable with driving this old car as there was a lot of judgment difference because lack of power steering and there is some stiffness in the gear shift. We insisted on completing the getting trained on Wagon R.
Now it’s been almost 2 months and I have started asking for a refund as his Wagon R car is not expected any time soon and I am tired of his excuses and his continuous arrogance over the phone. He is forcing us to complete the training on old car itself, and he refuses to return the money and claims that as a policy under no circumstances he refunds the money. However on his driving school website it is clearly mentioned: - “Unconditional Money Back Guaranty”. http://www.drivingschoolpune.com/courses.html

I want to raise an Alarm to these ill practices and he should not be able to dupe anyone else further. I want to spread a work be careful with this guy. Request the Consumer forum department to assist me in getting my concerns resolved.

Would sincerely appreciate your help in this issue..!!!

Nikhil A Chitre.

champion driving school pune — Driving school not providing training after taking entire course Fee.

Driving school not providing training after taking entire course Fee. I came across an Advertisement on Times
Classifieds of a driving School(Champion Motor Driving School, Pune) that
promises to take 1 Hour driving sessions on any of the preferred car
type. I called on the mobile no displayed in the Advertisement and
spoke to one Mr. Rajan who claims to be the owner of this school. I
was interested in enrolling for a 10 day course( 1 hour each day)
starting from the monday that was 13/07/2009.

In no time Mr. Rajan personally visited my place and promised to make
me skilled enough to drive on my own on city roads after this 10 day
course with them. He also is bragged a lot about his professionalism
and how he made the school better than other such schools in the city.
He said he would take feedback from me periodically to check if I'm
satisfied with the way the trainer has been training me. Moreover he
claimed that his agency would do everything to help me get my license
without any hassle. He asked for the entire course fee Rs 3000 upfront
plus Rs 700 for license( 200 for learning license+ 500 for permanent
license).

Me and my husband both were impressed with his claim and paid him the 2500/-

Monday I was ready before time and at about 3:55 pm called
Mr Rajan . When we called him( Mr. Rajan), he gave lame excuses.and told me he'll send tomorrow 3:00pm .Now the same evening I was waiting for the trainer to come for my
the steering. after that his idea mobile phone is not in services.
I think, Nikhil has faced some misunderstanding because I have also taken training from the same driving school and i didnt find any problem. The trainer never showed arrogance behavior and he is very helpful.

Thanks,
Mangesh.
Dear Nikhil,
I just want to discuss some points raised by you.
I had also enrolled myself with Ganraj Driving School for 4 wheeler driving. In your post you mentioned that

1)Instructor had some setup with the RTO officer:
Your guess is wrong, if you go to RTO office and ask for temporary license they won’t give it to you unless you present there with required documents (Which you submit at the time of taking admission and that would have submitted by Instructor).

2) his car braked down:
Answer is in your question, if his car braked down then how can he give you training with that car as you were willing to drive that car only. If car is damaged badly then insurance process and repairing take at least 2 weeks, still the instructor managed to give you training on ALTO.

3) he has managed some old Alto:
Agree, but tell me friend, how many driving schools in Pune provide training with new car???
Also, tuition fee of Ganraj Driving School is comparatively less than any other driving school in nearby area.

4) Incomplete training and Arrogant behavior:
In your post you are saying that your wife attended only 7-10 sessions, then how can you expect the full training in just 7-10 sessions.you can ask refund if your wife fails to drive after full training.

Please, think honestly as I didn’t face any problem during my training session. The instructor was quite helpful and polite in nature. I have also recommended Ganraj Driving School to some of my friends who were going to learn driving.
Yes, I agree with Sachin Balla. Ganraj Driving School instructor was very helpful with loads of patience, what else every learner expects?
Good service by Ganraj Driving School. Now I can confidently drive my own vehicle. Thanks.
At Ganraj Motor Driving School they trained everything from parking on a street to entering and exiting an highway, thanx for building confidence in me.

I am not agree with Nikhil, no one can get full training in just 7-10 sessions. To become a skilled driver practice and full training must be taken.
Happy with service, thanks for making me confident driver from fresher to skilled one.
Posted complaint is not true, senders wife should complete course and then only claim as incomplete.
Ohh yaar!!! My wife also have taken training from the same Driving School but she can drive my vehicle much better than me. Ganraj Driving School provide good service and now my sister has joined the same driving school.
It is one of the worst driving school in Pune. Totally unprofessional.
good service by Ganraj driving school
i enjoyed the training
Satisfied with the service
Abusive Language, Incomplete driving lessons and Absenteeism
Dear Customer Forum Board
Ganraj Motor Driving School – License # 411 Validity 13/07/2009 – 12/07/2014
I had enrolled both my friends for driving lessons with Ganraj Driving School, Koregaon Park. The driver, Sandip Dherange, coincidently is also the owner, which I learnt when I went for a refund after 9 days of disgusting 5 km sessions. I luckily gave him part payment, for which no receipt was given nor were documents collected from us for a Learner’s license. Every time we spoke to him about the documentation, he would say, ‘too many documents are required’ and would purposely delay. He was never punctual and frequently changed timings as per his convenience. When he missed 4 consecutive days, we got in touch with him, to which he mentioned that no drivers were available and to call back after 5 minutes. When I rang up exactly after 5 minutes, he pretended he didn’t know who was calling and disconnected the call abusing. I decided to go to his shop & met his assistant, Tushar. He took down the details; however, I still decided to pursue the matter to the Koregoan Police Chowki. Sandeep was summoned by Constable Shinde and I ensured the remaining amount was refunded. A receipt for the amount initially paid, was made along with the amount to be refunded and our signatures were taken for the same, vide receipt # 372 dated July 18, 2011.
It was a good lesson for him. Had I seen Mr Nikhil Chitre’s complaint, I would never have contacted Ganraj Motor Driving School. His license should be confiscated.
Warm regards,
Sandra D’souza
I know the candidate Sandra D’souza as we were from the same batch. They created the issue because the trainer refused to give License as they didn’t give legal documents for License. They were belonging to other State. Trainer could not give license without legal documents and when they realized this thing they started complaining just after 6 sessions of driving. What a pathetic behavior that was!! But I liked the way they trained me. You have to learn driving very seriously and be confident while driving.

I had applied for a 4 wheeler driving license and just for the license he charged Rs 1000. Then on the day of the test he charged additional 500 Rs indicating that the licence would be delivered via post and hence the address needs to be changed. It is been over a month, and I have no clue of my license. He is not responding to phone calls. There is no official receipt given for the entire license process too.
On the day of license test, i realized that Ganraj driving school has lost all the contacts it had in RTO. The RTO inspectors treated him like dirt. I would not reccommend anyone getting the license from Ganaraj.
I would now need to get information about my driving license from someone else /RTO directly.
yes i was also cheated the same way by this bloody champion driving school peoples they are cheat people who takes money from people and change thr contact nos
I think they charged the right amount because i had also applied for 4 wheeler driving licence from another driving school and I had paid 1800 Rs cause my address was need to change. I received my driving license very late as its a duty of RTO and not the driving school.

Prasenjit
