[Resolved]  H. P. (Hewlett Packard) — No after sales service support for the product sold by the company M/s H.P. besides Arrogant attitude, Highly Non responsive attitude

Respected Sir,

I purchased a HP I-PAQ 512 vide Invoice No. 1839/05.11.07 of M/s Strategic Marketing, Dehradun for Rs. 11,000/-. Suddenly it stops functioning .I approached M/s H.P.`s authorized Service Centre -M/s RT Services, Dehradun for it trouble shooting. I was then conveyed by them that the battery of the I-Paq was not functioning so I purchased a new battery for Rs. 2300/- approx from them. Even after purchase of the battery my I-Paq is still not functioning . Accordingly I asked the service provider to get the same repaired. They denied to repair it , instead they sent me a fresh quote to purchase a new I-Paq on a very higher price than what I had paid while purchasing it earlier . Being compelled I submitted them the Invoice of my earlier purchase in Nov`2007 of Rs. 11,000/- with my suggestions for its replacement but they have not responded till date.

This is very ridiculous that the Customers are treated this way . I wrote no of mails to M/s HP and their service provider mentioning that If my compliant is not heard by 10.09.09, I will be bound to take shelter of the Hon`ble Consumer forum, but there is no response till date. The letter sent on 20.08.09 is also reproduced below. I want justice against this sort of attitude of such big cos. towards its end consumers & the mental harassment going on making the Customers fool & compelling them to act on their whims & fancies.

In view of all above ,it is requested that my complaint please be registered & addressed for prompt disposal pl.

Letter as sent to the Service Provider-

Dear Sirs,
I am highly surprised to see the quote for me (the struggling customer only because of the reason that HP is not providing after sales services for the product sold by them) . This simply means for any customer that for whatever product HP is not able to arrange after sales service, the customer is bound to purchase the same item in exchange on a very higher price than what was paid for it earlier.
In view of the above I am enclosing the invoice of purchase of my I-PAQ 512 (Invoice No. 1839/05.11.07 of M/s Strategic Marketing, Dehradun) for Rs. 11,000/-.
It is submitted that-
1. As per prevailing trend of the market in the field of computers and mobiles, with passage of time passed, the cost of the old model reduces drastically, whereas as per quote of Rs. 15080.10 by you, with 40% discount Rs. 9409.98 (Ref Yr. quote no. [protected]-461)is nothing but an eyewash taking benefit of the situation compelling the customer to act as you wish to.
2. It is also worth mentioning here that in local market of Rishikesh, the same model in available for sale at very cheaper rates.
3. My proposal for getting other I-PAQ 512 in view of exchange of the existing is as under:
i) Present Cost of I-PAQ 512 with battery (Considering Old Model with 30% reduction in cost in 22 months after purchase) =[protected]X30%= Rs. 7700.00
ii) Deduct cost of battery in lieu of battery already purchased =Rs.7700-Rs.2300=5400
iii) 50% Discount on cost of equipment = 50% of 5400=Rs.2700.00
iv) Cost of I-PAQ 512 to pay in exchange (with one year Std. Warranty) =[protected] = Rs. 2700/-( Maximum).
Kindly resolve my problem at the earliest i.e. latest by 31.08.09 & confirm me per return mail and by telephone on my contact no. [protected] or otherwise I would be left with no other option but be forced/ bound to take shelter of the Hon’ble Consumer Forum for Justice & Solution to my grievance .

Hoping for urgent justifiable solution /response putting me out of the ambit of this mental agony.
