[Resolved]  Hp — 18.5 TFT HP 1859m Monitor not working

I purchased a HP Compaq Presario with a 18.5 TFT monitor on 14th April 2009 with a 3 year warranty from Geonet India Pvt Ltd Mumbai.

My monitor stopped functioning on 7th August 2010 and I logged a complaint with HP call centre on 8th august 2010. My complaint number is CA0983372.

I am sorry to inform you that till today even after 2 months it is not repaired. I have lost count of the calls made to the call centre and the assurances given by the floor managers. I am surprised that a multi national company like HP has such irresponsible staff and has no system to monitor long pending cases.

Once I got a call from the service centre at Mumbai to inquire if I had a carton to pack the monitor as the monitor would be picked up by a courier and delivered to the service centre for repairs. When I said that I did not have a carton I was informed by the service centre that the delay was because of the non availability of carton to pack the monitor. As a HP customer am I supposed to keep the cartons till the warrant is over in order to get prompt service?

On 2nd Oct 2010 an old monitor without stand/connectors was sent by courier with instructions to the delivery boy to connect the same and bring back the faulty monitor. This monitor was sent on Saturday night and the confused delivery boy could not contact your service centre to seek instructions on the course of action as the stand/connectors were not provided. I asked the courier boy to take back this old monitor as I was not informed whether the old monitor was sent as a temporary arrangement till my faulty monitor was repaired or this was a permanent replacement. I could not contact your service centre for clarification as it was closed.

I have not used my desktop for more than 2 months now and I don’t see it being used for a few more months. If by gods grace the monitor is repaired after a few months then I am worried that the CPU may fail due to non usage for a long time and this again may lead to another battle with HP. My 3 year warranty would expire in this long battle. God save me from HP.
