[Resolved]  HSBC Bank — Levy Charges on Corporate Salary Account

Hi All,

This is regarding the Levy of charges for not metting the minimum average quarterly balance criteria on the Account :[protected].

Firstly, the account number mentioned is not a personal savings account, it was a Corporate Salary Account when i was working with the company "Value Healthcare PVT LTD, Mumbai" who has a corportae account at your "HSBC M.G Road" branch Mumbai. I left the company almost 3.3yrs back, i was asked to withdraw all of the balance from my above account as they were about to close it after my full & final settlement.The company was supposed to close this account after i left. HSBC Woke up almost after 3Yrs and says that i have to pay some amount as not maintaining minimum balance.

I had corporate Salary Accounts with Citibank and Kotak with my earlier companies and i never had to face any situation of this kind. All the accounts were closed after 6months of my job change...

Second thing is it was a " Salaried - Zero Balance Account ". So, i just don't understand where is this issue of Charges come into picture.

Upon contacting their customer support i was asked to give a request to close the said account. Now, I had given a Written request to close the account at the Fort HSBC Branch on 21st August 2008 and since then i was continuously contacting them regarding the status, i was getting only a single answer

"We wish to inform that we are liaising with the relevant department regarding this Account Closure with reference to the Complaint Reference Number [protected] and we request you to please bear with us in the interim and the same shall be updated shortly." I have nearly 5 Written emails from their customer support of this kind... I just don't understand what is stopping them...

Can someone please look into this matter and guide whom to contact in HSBC regarding this... Would really appreciate your help.

I too face the same pbm with HSBC (corporate account, Chennai). I gave request for closing my account twice, still it doesn't happen. When i went thro my bank details, I found Total Hold as some money. I called up customer care for knowing about this and i was informed that I have to pay the amount for not maintain the minimum balance for the powervantage account. During my request for closure, the branch employee didn't give any information regarding the minimum balance.Now I found his amount oustanding. It was not even reflecting in monthly statement. Then how ppl will know the debit ? I can't still understand, Why i need to maintain minimum balance after giving closure request?
I have always pbm with HSBC.

Has anybody solved this problem by not paying the money?
HSBC sucks - same with me. These guys are useless nuts
