Dear Sir / Madam,
I had opted for a life time free HSBC Gold credit card [protected] & an add on card [protected].
When I received my first bill for INR 1770.56 /-, I was shocked to see that I was billed for TATA AIG Life Insurance policy which I had not opted for at the timing of signing on.
Immediately I sent a request to HSBC for cancellation of my credit card and to zeroise any payment due as I had not wanted services for which I was billed on 14.08.09 (HSBC acknowledgement no.KMM1088933I123L0KM)
HSBC promptly sent me confirmation on 15.08.08 that the account will be zeroised vide their internal ref no[protected].(HSBC acknowledgement no. KMM1098599I123L0KM)
Thereafter from December 2008 I started getting calls from HSBC’s agent in Delhi for recovery of payment which was bloated to Rs 5000 or so with late payment / finance charges. I refused to pay since I was billed for services I did not want and also because HSBC had themselves waived the outstanding amount. The agents did not recognize the ref no[protected] of HSBC towards waiver and continued harassing me for payment. Eventually I paid a sum of Rs 5741/- (in two lots of Rs 3059 & Rs 2682.) towards services I have not used as a result of harassment and to stop the calls which was a big nuisance to me.
When I have contacted HSBC for refund of money since I should not be paying HSBC, I have been given a cold shoulder treatment by all their officers.
I am a respected citizen of democratic INDIA and I have never defaulted on any payment till date. I was manhandled by HSBC in this instance and very unfair treatment.
I seek justice in this case and kindly advice how should I proceed.
Best Rgards
Prasad Dhotre
