Please note I was holding HSBC Gold Credit Card [protected] (Issued from Pune Branch) in name of Akhil Jain which got expired in 2006.
I couldn't pay the overdue amount on card for long time and ultimately paid the whole amount of Rs 53, 900 on 30/01/2009.
At the time of payment assurance was given that my name will be removed from CIBIL Defaulter list automatically as bank updates CIBIL on monthly basis.
It's now 6 months but my name still appears in CIBIL defaulter list. Recently I applied for credit card and same got rejected due to CIBIL listing.
I called customer care/collection department many times but all show inability to rectify this issue.
Later I approched HSBC Nodal Office and got the following reply.
We confirm that the CIBIL records have already been updated with the nil
balance details on it. However, it will be updated once in 30 days as
per our policies. As your Credit Card was closed by the bank, the status
of your card account will be updated as WRITTEN OFF. We regret to inform
you that we cannot change this status.
Even after making full payment of overdue amount HSBC is not ready to change the 'WRITTEN OFF' status of my card in CIBIL.
Please help me in this regard otherwise I will never be able to get home loan in future.
Regards,
Akhil Jain
