[Resolved]  ICICI Pru Life — Policy sold and refund denied

Kindly see the below email from the Company. I was sold the policy in 2005 saying that i need to pay for a year and then i can withdraw the amount and I will be paid interest on that and now they are saying as below. Please help it is my hard earned money and I badly need the money to support my family.

We wish to inform you that we had received the proposal for insurance from you on April 15th, 2005 along with first premium deposit of Rs.1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred Only). Accordingly, the policy was issued on April 16th, 2005 and the policy document was dispatched on April 20th, 2005 delivered to your registered address on April 23rd, 2005 via Blue Dart Courier with the Bill number [protected].

In order to ensure transparency that the product is issued as per customer’s choice, we provide the customer with a copy of the application/ proposal form along with the policy document. If on receipt of the same, the policy holder is not agreeable to the terms and conditions, he/she has the option to cancel the policy under the free-look i.e. 15 days from the date of being in receipt of the policy document as mandated by the Insurance Regulator and Development Authority (IRDA). The same is also mentioned in the policy document delivered to you.

As per our records, we have not received any communication from you regarding cancellation or alteration of your above mentioned policy within the said free-look period, thereby implying that you agreed to the Policy terms and conditions and that the same was in consonance with the said application form.

We have not received any communication from you regarding alteration/ cancellation of your policy in this period implying that you agreed to the contents mentioned in the Proposal form and Policy terms and conditions.

Also, we understand that you have revived your policies and paid your renewal premiums towards the aforesaid policy.

We would also like to inform you that as per our records, you had approached the Company for the above mentioned policy.

However, the said concern was not highlighted by you then thereby confirming that the policy is issued as per your consent.

In view of above and in keeping with the policy terms and conditions, we are unable to comply with your request for cancellation of your policy.
