Anyone knows where to complain officially about the meter tampering?
I travelled by Taxi number WB04E 8750 on 22-Aug from Science City to Sec V and the day being a holiday there was hardly any traffic. The distance being around 7 Kms, the usual fare is around 70 bucks. But this taxi having a totally faulty meter (with taxi driver manipulating a wire near the steering wheel), registered a fre of 130 bucks with a distance reading as 12.8 Kms which is totally crap. I ran from pillar to post seeking police help but it being a holiday there were hardly any in the region I got down. Later I registered a complaint with Kolkata Police against this taxi and to get his meter checked, however I was told that it was not possible after a gap of 2 hours. I request all Kolkatans to be aware of this fraud taxi owner/driver and take him straight to a Police station rightaway (as was ifnormed by local PS) and get his meter checked. The total fine payable by taxi owner is Rs 500 of which govt get 250 bucks while the rest is distributed to the victim.
dear sir, i have took a taxi form howrah station on 02-11-11 at around 9.45 p.m. besides pre-paid booth where taxi has been allotted by police on meter payment basis form howrah station to golf green / sree colony thakur bari, kolkata-92. i have lost my black berry mobile IMEI NO. [protected] and my mobile no [protected]. immediately i called this no. but driver did not pick up the call. after few minute he is switch off the mobile phone. need your kind co-operation if you find the same.

Taxi Fraud — Tampered Meter
My brother today came in a taxi ( WB-B-3063) from Calcutta Science City to Sinthee More, which he had to pay the fare of Rs.950, but the meter of the taxi was in working condition. How is it possible? Please take necessary action.
