[Resolved]  LG India — Cheating by LG in Mallika-e-kitchen competition

Address:West Delhi, Delhi

I participated in the Mallika-E-Kitchen cooking competition held at Janakpuri on July 25, 2010. I was adjudged third prize winner in the competition. There were consolation prizes for all participants. But surprisingly I was awarded with similar gifts for participation as well as for third prize winner. It came to me as a humiliation as gifts for winning third prize and for participation makes no difference in the eyes of LG. It was not expected from such a big company like LG. Immediately I informed the organizer over phone & by email. I was told that it was done inadvertantly and they assured me to replace the gift. But no such action was taken by LG organizer even after one month. I strongly felt on that day that there was some manipulation being done by the organizer while they were distributing the prizes and gifts were changed by them.

This attitude of LG will discourage participants to take part in future. I don't want to retain two similar gifts and I want to return the gift for third prize back to LG.

As far as my knowledge goes, there was no third prize. the only prizes LG gave were first second and six to eight consolation prizes. So no question of cheating. I m second prize winner of South Delhi and i attended rest of the three events in delhi inluding West Delhi as guest. Moreover, the prize LG gave at South Delhi was of the lowest worth compated to other zones. I took up this issue with LG people. They told me that they are getting lessons from every event and are trying to imrpove themselves.

But I do agree that there was cheating in Regional Round held at Jaipur. The results were not according to the norms set by LG. Judges were not well conversant with the rules. In short, LG was looking for four things - 1. Innovative Receipe (15 marks), 2. Presentation (15 marks), 3. Taste (10marks), 4. Texture (10marks). In addition, it was also told that we have to make on receipe in 90 minutes. However, the first prize winner made Rajasthani Thali with excess salt in Dal Bati. What is innovative in Rajasthani Thali with too salty Dal Bati. May be the Judge was a patient of Low BLOOD PRESSURE requiring a dose of salt. Moreover, the second prize winner made 5 things and on asking which dish she wants to be judged, she answered, that whatever they feel tasty can be judged. I think judges liked her low self confidence. LG says that they talked to judges on the issue and the judges told that they were amazed that both the winners were able to present a variety of cuisine in the given 90 minutes time. LG felt shy to tell the judges that their judgement was based on wrong criteria. Is there any recourse to this injustice. LG has not even answered my email sent to them.
namaskar
aap log lg company ka jo malika e kitchen competetion karate hain usme ist round me ye clear bataya gaya tha ki microwave cooked dish along with the recipe lana hai ghar se banakar. apke instruction me ye saaf likha bhi tha. meri wife ne dhanbad me microwave ka preparation hi display kiya aur recipe ke sath. baki participant bhi microwave ka hi banakar present kiya. lekin first prize aisa lady ko mila jo microwave ka dish nahi display kiya. wo sewai kadai me banake laya. aisa liberty tha to baki logo ko kyon aisa instruction diya, sab log koi aur chhej la sakte the. ye sarasar galat hai. aise me bhavisya me koi lg competetion me nahi bhag lega. kripya matter ko dekhen.mai ye mail 2 dafa lg ko bheja lekin javab nai aya. kripya ise fair competetion kare jisse mahilao ka manobal na toote.
dhanyavad.
I totally disagree with the above comment. The preparation was of microwave and was adjudged before the other other participant, in which I was also one of the viewers of the Dhanbad round of Mallika-e-kitchen contest. I feel there is a lack of sportman spirit in this contest and in my view. It is unfortunate to see this type of comment, which is not a question for the participant, but for the expert judge in this field.- Shweta
