[Resolved]  maruti wagon r vxi — Overall Built and Service Quality

I bought a Maruti Wagon R Vxi on Dec 2009 from DD Motors, Delhi. To my surprise, there was huge variation in the price of same car offered by various car dealers in Delhi. The same product was being sold within the range of INR 335000 to 360000. I fought that out there and managed certain accessories. BTW, I was never told about any expected change in the model of the car in May 2010.

The next big shock came when I used the car for nearly 1000 KMs. The service got due and took my car to Maruti Service Masters, Naraina. There were certain problems I mentioned (Parking Lights not Working, Starting Problem) that were never rectified. Even during free service, Maruti charges for wheel balance and Alignment (INR 800), I never got that done (you can get the same done for 350) from any tyre shop. The clutch was readjusted by MSM, Naraina without any instruction. It was adjusted to ensure that it requires replacement by the time I cover 10,000 KMs (which is not included in the warrenty). In my third service, the service advisor lost all his interest after I told him that I am not interested in getting any underbody rust coat or paint coat done. I believe, the service advisor has his targets in terms of raising customer's bills and getting incentives. The spares for the car are damn expensive. I was told that since the car is out of production, therefore, the spares may not even be avialable in near future. the car was returned to me much later than promised. Few things mentined were not done.


The overall build quality of the car is pathetic. There is lot of engine noise inside the cabin, Air-Conditioning is not effective in summers (Wagon R is suppose to have best A/C). There is lot of sound that comes from boot due to poor quality of plastics.

Maruti is now no more a reliable ride, rather they are taking their customer for a ride by increasing costs, reducing product quality and ensuring a loot during service. I would want company to provide a reliable mode of transport.
