[Resolved] MBMCU University of Calcutta — No Placement | |||
MBM programme offered by the University of Calcutta at the Alipore campus (also called MBMCU) does not provide placements worth MBA equivalent degree. They convince students before admission about a placement facility which does not even exist. They claim a record of 100% placement but only a handful of the students get placed anywhere. They can not even provide their 50% of students any job in managerial position. Yet they select students on the basis of CAT score. Renumeration offered in the placements are not justified with high CAT score required to get into this institution. In a nutshell this is where you can waste complete two years of your life. Many of the graduates of this institution are frustrated because of the age old and outdated pedagogical process which remains unproductive in the end. Was this information helpful? | |||

My dear this is a university department and hence dont need to convince students to take admissions.U get admitted or not they will get their monthly salary.And why r u providing such false statements?Even the placement officer doesnt claim that they give 100% placements.May be the placements are not like the top ranked institutes but given the course fees(most probably the 2nd lowest in India) and the return u get, u r always a gainer.It is far better than many so called business schools which operates in a 3BHK flats and have their father as those with largest network of centres in India and cheat the students with huge course fees and high dreams.And in these age of information all information are available before taking admission. Its true this department lacks advertising for itself whereas many cheap institutes rake moolahs for themselves.

I am associated as a teacher in Business Administration in a reputed college in Kolkata. There I have interacted with so many teachers of MBM CU. They are well known for their unpolished behaviour, irreparable temperament and attitude problems. They only want students to cram up, which is quite disgusting. The teaching pedagogy is age old and lacks innovative approach. The salary figures stated, as obtained by students, was cross checked by me, and it was proven to be false. In short, it is better not to do an MBA/MBM than to be enrolled in this University.
ABOUT THIS MBM COURSE AND THIS DEPARTMENT
Misplaces internal marks, mark sheets, answer scripts etc of students.zero placement.Only theoretical course type. Course pattern is very old and not at all industry related but more related to future phd structure. Department is mainly run by political leaders and politics.High political influence to such an extent that students who take part in politics are easily passed in examinations and those refusing to do so are made to suffer otherwise. No placement facility and this is why the department (mbm) tries to reduce the number of its placement eligible students by intentionally providing them with multiple backlogs .When students ask for their answer scripts for recheck, the department says that the answer script is lost. No proper or functioning computer lab with only a few tv structure computers which hardly function .No department library facility.Very pathetic infrastructure.No proper sitting arrangements in classroom and late students have to stand throughout the entire period due to lack of enough chairs and desks. Not enough number of projectors for lecture.When one batch of students is using a class with a projector, another batch has to wait to get the facility for their class.Department is very non co operative with the students grievances and is always on the look to blame back the students.No clarity in the system and high rate of favouritism to selective candidates who are wealthy or otherwise influential.More autonomous kind of a department where personal assessment and favouritism rules.However they have a head office in some other place and this head office and the department does not have a cordial or healthy relationship with each other.Also the head office is so far off from the campus that it becomes really difficult coordinating for a student, as result declaration, fees submission, marksheet collection need to be done from there by the student himself.Very limited hostel facility with very low hygiene level.
Please dont waste your precious time (3-4 years) studying here because of its very low fees.Maybe you are paying less in money terms but you are really doing a great deal of time and energy expenditure probably at a loss.
Tech graduates should never go for a mbm from here as that kills their 3-4 years making them even more ineligible for mnc offcampuses in the future. .
