[Resolved]  Mumbai Taxi — Faulty Meter/Overcharging

Daily travel from the Domestic Airport to opposite Kamla Mills entry gate come to a meter reading of 5.5 to 6.5, depending on traffic.

Taxi no. MH 03 F3962 had a meter reading 0f 1.10 for the same distance covered today (25th June 09). The traffic policeman on duty there failed to heed to my complaint.

I request that the taxi driver's license be revoked and the driver be severely reprimanded for being a cheat and a fraud.

Hope that at least this plea does not fall on deaf ears!

Mumbai taxi-faulty Meter. — Excess meter reading.

i travel every day Morning at 9 AM from Marine drive E road to Dr. Annie besant road, Sasmira.The taxi charges are usually Rs. 86 to Rs. 91.50, depenting on the traffic condition. However today i boarded a taxi No.MH 02 R 7568. The meter charges were Rs.114.50 that too when there was no traffic block. The driver was too arrogant when i pointed about the meter reading.

I traveled in a taxi no MH 02R 6467 on Nov 11th from airport to Tata Institute of Social Sciences,Deonar. Usually the taxi charges are come never more than 200. this driver was asking Rs. 450 and I paid 350 finally due to his fight. I am sure he charged 150 more from me. He said the meter reading is 25 Km. this is unbeleivable and he dropped me in front of the gate and I carried baggages alone. I am pregnant, this created me a lot of physical and mental problems. Please take any action to prevent this kind of behaviour from taxi drivers.

His meter was faulty . His meter skiped from 9 to 12 then 12 to 16 and so on. I took him to police station but inspector refuced me lodge a complain.

take tht cab driver and his meter to the consumer forum court and issue a warant against the driver, copmplsin to acp or commisioner or local mla or issue a summons oder of reply from ...last option let the media know ths thy will try to give u justice via human right commision ...is all gonnna nothing sit at home and watch t20.

THE FARE WHICH I PAY EVERYDAY IS RS19/- THIS PARTICULAR AUTO`S METER STARTED AT RS 1.10 WHEN I DREW HIS ATTENTION TO THIS HE REFUSED TO ACCEPT THE SAME & TOLD ME THAT HE HAD COME FROM HIS VILLAGE YESTERDAY & DIDN`T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE METER. WHEN IREACHED BANDRA STN HE CHARGED ME RS 5/- EXTRA AS HIS METER WAS VERY FAST. I WOULD REQUEST YOU TO LOOK INTO THIS MATTER AS HE HAS CHARGED ME RS 24/- INSTEAD OF THE USUAL RS 19/-

yes i agree too all the local public complaints as many times we are looted due to circumstnces.

Auto no. MH 03 V 6735 @ morning 7.30 I travelled to Borivali station to Jogeshwari station, I have traveled so many times, its come to 120 or maximan 125, but auto meter was showing 10.5 and charged me 140 Rs and he also asked for extra charges for 2 small luggage. All Taxi walas at Borivali east station always ask for double charges from normal meter charges, Traffic police kindly do the needful.
