[Resolved]  Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation — Western Ghat Hills under damage across Navi Mumbai

Address:Mumbai Suburban, Maharashtra

I am writing to you after I failed to seek attention to a big environmental issue around Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.

I wanted to draw your attention to several Digging/mining activity happening around the Western Ghat hill range beside Thane - Belapur road ( Navi Mumbai, India). The site is just behind the Hindustan Times News office in Airoli, Navi Mumbai, India

Western Ghat is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The evidence of digging/mining are clearly visible from Thane - Belapur road across Airoli, Navi Mumbai. Some pictures attached.
We are concerned about the environment and wanted to save the hills/ mountains around us.
If this digging/mining continues, very soon Mumbaikars we'll not have any Western Ghat hill/mountain left to show to our next generation.

Is this mining/digging approved by Govt ? What we need to do to stop this ?
As a Mumbaikar, I am requesting to save the hills and mountains from further damage by taking desciplinary action

This garage has built its shop on the footpath and is also using the road to park dilapidated and broken cars. Action may please be taken to remove this encroachment immediately.
It's huge damage to the environment and planet Earth. The mountain range parallel to Navi Mumbai is not only scenic beauty but orographic to monsoon winds as well as host of numbers of species of trees, plants and animals. It is good in height and big in terms of the width. We can see Sun/Moon arise like in pictures, waterfalls, greenery in monsoon. These mining work is damaging the nature to unpredictable limit. Future will have highways, new cities like Ulwe /Dronagiri?? We as a human being, disturbing nature for what extent?? All time this development is not a success. It's blind race, should we buy homes at such distructed place ", if made?? Mighty government, this is not a development, it's destruction. Please let us know what is going on, what is the plan of government /politicians?? Please stop now, see the beauty and use of this mountain range, please...
