[Resolved] Nokia 5220 Xpress Music — Phone not working | |
Hi, I have a Nokia 5220 Xpress Music handseg which I bought in the month of August 2008. After 3 months, it started having problems and would go blank and switch off automatically. I would restatrt it again and it functioned normally thereafter. On December 26 2009, the phone suddenly stopped functioning and instead of catching the Network Service Provider which in my case is Airtel, it showed as "Contact Service". I took it to the Nokia Care showroom in Waltair Uplands, Visakhapatnam and the executive out there said it would cost me INR 225 and it would take 10-15 days for the problem to be rectified. He said it would either be an IC or a Motherboard problem and that they would get back with an update once the problem is resolved. On receiving no update, I went to the showroom to check the status on 02 January 2010 and was shocked when the person concerned said that it would cost INR 3900 and another 10-15 days for the problem to be resolved. They were simply unaware of what is the problem and were shooting in the dark. I got the phone back and visited the Nokia Priority showroom in "Dwaraka Nagar", Visakhapatnam and the executive there said he could not do it and asked me to visit a shop "Mobicare" at Daba Gardens. I took the phone to the shop on 02 January 2010 and Mr. Duke over there said it would cost me INR 1700 for the problem to be rectified. After some time he said the problem is resolved but now a new problem has risen wherein it is not catching the network. He said it would take a few days for this problem to be resolved and insisted that we pay the 1700 Rupees for the earlier problem which according to him he had resolved. I went to Bngalore and came back on 28 January 2010 and on visiting the shop, I was hoping to find my mobile intact but to my surprise Mr. Duke said the problem could not be solved and additionally a new problem had risen wherein the phone switches off and restarts automatically after every 8 minutes. I got my phone back. It is a blatant case of Incompetence and cheating by Nokia and inspite of spending money & time the phone is a 15,000 rupee disaster for me. Nokia — Nokia 5220 xpress handset malfunctioning
Last year I bought Nokia 5220 xpress music.After 1 year (exact 1 year)completetion,my mobile phone not working.Every day I switched off mobile BEfore i go to bed and morning I switch on the mobile.this s my reqular routine practice.same thing yesterday also I switched off my cell after listening music (in my phone),Morning i switch on my mobile,my mobile shows one message " contact service".I put another sim ,I recive same message.what i do.last oct 08 I bought cell,My warranty period came to end to last oct 09what i do,pl give clarification

nokia -5220 — malfunctioning
sir i hav purchased this nokia set 2 month ago...i found some problem in my set ..so i gave it to nokia service-center mysore...but sir they r not giving right response...they keep delaying...for a month..plz tell me whom to contact..i m fed with the service provided by u..
