[Resolved] Philips DVD Player FWD 570 — DVD player not working | |||
Since my DVD player was not working, I lodged a service requisition on the website of Philips. The technician visited my home and took away my music system two months' back, with the promise to return the same duly repaired within 2 days. He told me that the lens is not working and the part has to be changed. He also informed that the cost of repairs would be Rs.1500/-. For two months despite constant followup I could not get my DVD player repaired. The service station kept on telling me that the part is not available and the same wouldbe procured soon. The approx. expenditure is Rs.2000/-. Now, after two moths, the service station has sent me an e-mail informing me that the part would cost Rs.4000/- and that they would carry out the repairs on receiving my confirmation. It is very much disgusting to note that a company with a trusted name of Philips has been betraying its old customers. Was this information helpful? | |||

i am very sure lense problem is manufacturing defect from philips and needs to be replaced by them without charging further.
