REGARDING PASSPORT — Cancellation of passport

Hi,

I have submitted the PP from with my full documents in Baranagar police station. My documents were clear. But now the status is " Application has been closed, Please reapply quoting earlier File Number or contact PRO."


My simple question is WHY?


In police station they told me to give Rs. 1000?- to process the passport quickly, and few money to them as they would process that. I denied to give because my document was clear and I had no urgency and I dislike this thing.


Is the reason is this?
