To
Hon’ble Smt. Sheila Dixit,
Chief Minister,
Government of NCT of Delhi,
New Delhi.

Madam,

Subject: Construction of a Common Bio-Medical Waste Treatment Facility (CBWTF) and CTF Facility at DDA Flats, Gazipur Dairy Farm – Regarding.

We request your good offices to kindly recall the meeting the representatives of the Residents’ Welfare Association (Regd.), DDA Flats, Ghazipur Dairy Farm, Delhi-110096 had with you sometimes back for voicing their concerns over the construction of a Common Bio-Medical Waste(organ of Buffellow/Goat/Fish/Chicken and may be human organ) Treatment Facility (CBWTF) and CTF Facility are proposed to be constructed at the DDA Flats, Gazipur, Delhi – 110096. In this regard, we also enclose a copy of the letter dated 24th September, 2008 of Shri Amrish Gautam, MLA, Delhi forwarding our representation Ref. No. RWA/GP/Park/2008/01 dated 15th September, 2008 to your Hon’ble Offices.

Madam, you had been kind enough to give us (like Chicken Mandi, Fish Mandi, Slaughter House and Garbage like hill) an assurance that the proposed waste treatment facilities will not be allowed to be constructed at the identified site at Ghazipur as these activities are harmful to public health. Some on[protected], Hon’ble Shri Sandeep Dixit, MP, East Delhi had also visited our colony and given us an assurance that the construction of these facilities at Ghazipur shall not be allowed.

Despite all this, on 24th April, 2009 some people in three trucks came to the proposed site and informed us that they have been awarded work order for construction of the proposed facilities. Somehow, we could manage to resist them to start working at the proposed site.

Madam, such facilities, being hazardous to public health, can only be installed at a site which is isolated and there is no habitation at least within a radius of 2-3 kilometers of the site. We, therefore, once again request your good offices to prevail over the concerned authorities and have the installation of the above facilities at DDA Flats, Gazipur stopped immediately.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,
For Residents’ Welfare Association (Regd.)
