[Resolved]  Sreeleathers — manufacturing defect in shoes

Complaint of shoes with manufacturing defects purchased
from Sreeleathers Ltd showroom, 16A, Regal Building,Connaught Place,New Delhi -110001

1. I purchased a pair of leather shoes, model no. – 71290 / 7 colour – Black for Rs. 748/- vide Cash Memo Number – T 30 / 00619528 on 29.03.2010 from Sreeleathers Ltd showroom, 16A, Regal Building,Connaught Place,New Delhi -110001. The lower leather sole of one of the shoes was detached from back side in less than two months.
2. The shoe was guaranteed for a warranty period of six months.
3. I went to their above mentioned Connaught Place showroom on 17.05.2010 and showed the manufacturing defect to the salesperson Shri Manas and requested him for replacing the defective pair of shoes. After inspecting the pair of shoes for about half an hour he insisted that in this case only re-pasting will be done. I further pointed out to him that the sole of the other shoe was also getting detached. He said that he will take the shoes and send them to Kolkata workshop for repairs. Inspite of my protestations he issued a repairing slip number 11639 dated 17.05.2010.
4. At this juncture I asked from him the name of his senior officer or manager to whom I can make a complaint. He informed me that the Manager was Shri I. K. Gupta but he was not available at that time. When I asked him about his mobile number, he gave me his landline number, and showed his ignorance about the mobile number. Nobody picked up the landline number, but an answering machine asked for recording my message.
5. In utter disgust, when I rang up their showroom number and asked for the mobile number of the Manager, they gave me his mobile number. Then I rang up Shri I. K. Gupta and told him about my problem. He listened to my grievance and told me that as he was away he will send somebody to meet me. But nobody turned up. After getting disgusted with their attitude, while coming out of the showroom,I enquired from one of the employees as to where can I find Shri I. K. Gupta, the employee pointed out towards Shri Gupta, who was standing there. I again pleaded with him for replacement of the shoes with manufacturing defect. But he also talked about pasting. They were simply passing time and did nothing. This is the way they behave with customers. The same answers could be given at very first moment without wasting our valuable time.
6. I am very much disappointed with their attitude. I am making this complaint with a hope that they will take appropriate action in this regard so that in future no customer shall be entertained in such a manner that he feels himself cheated in purchase of a product of such a reputed company at their outlet.
7. I am unable to comprehend as to “Where is the quality control of products of Sreeleathers”. – a so - called “world class, right price” organization.
In view of the above facts, I request for replacement of shoes or refund of the amount of Rs. 748/- within the time period of 15 days. If they are not going to provide me any help in this time period, I will be constrained to file my complaint in Consumer Forum against their Service Centre.
Hope, they will take action in this regard at the earliest
