[Resolved]  Tally. Erp 9 — Failed to round off figures

we bought Tally.ERP to computerise our Books of Accounts which were maintained by our CA earlier.

Upon recommendations from several of our friends and users, we decided to opt for TallyERP to ease our maintenance of accounts.

After installation of the software when we started to make entries, we found that software is not rounding off Figure and suggesting to use Round Off ledger separately to do this. As we were doing rounding off of all the figures manually and then our CA executive was doing entries on that basis, hence we asked Tally person to help us in resolving the issue., After waiting for approx. 12 hours, when we approached them for resolution, they told that it is not possible to round off figures and we have to use Round Off ledger which we don't want to. Hence because the software did not performed as per our expectation, we asked them to take the software back and return the money.

Upon hearing this, they flatly refused to refund and advised us to wait for an unknown period till their developers implement Rounding off figures functionality in the software.

The software was procured on 3rd May, 2010 and we requested them to take the software back today just after 36 hours.

This is a very bad on part of Tally for delivering and bringing an unfinished product into market. I ask them to take the software back or give us an assurance in writing about the firm date by which the feature will be enabled and till then compensate us for the mental loss and for the investment which we have already made in Tally and now forced to opt for some other solution.

As there is no protection for consumer/buyers of Software products in India, companies like Tally make fool of them by supplying spurious products.
