[Resolved] Tanishq Jewellery — cheating
I have a loyalty ID no. with Tanishq. I purchased a mangal sutra chain of weight 30.740 on 2/2/11 vide purchase invoice 2T/URB/2010/2477 & No.URB/CM/20748 from Tanishq Usman Road Branch Chennai and I found later that there is a cut in the joints of design loops of the chain and approached the shop on Jan. 2012. The shop refused to replace it with a new similar one, however, agreed to get it repaired from the factory with no charges vide invoice CCAF No.URB114354 dated 07/01/2012 and promised to return the chain with the same weight (which they ought to). However, after a month's time, they repaired and returned my chain with a weight of 30.620 (factory's remarks on the bill to this effect). When asked for reduction in the weight the shop people told it might be the dirt which was lost. The chain which I bought in Feb.2011 and which I gave it for repair weighed the same and it was very much available on the bill invoice. If dirt is settled on the chain it should have weighed more, where it is not so. The factory while doing the repair work has lost the weight and the company is responsible for it. But there is no guidelines/instructions available to the shops in this regard and the shop people are unable to do anything. As I see from many other complaints, there is nothing great in the brand name and tanishq is no better than a pawn broker shop (with whom you can bargain). There is no guarantee in anything with tanishq. it is the big money involved and loss to the customers. I am very very unhappy with tanishq. Was this information helpful?
