Hi,
I took one TATA photon plus postpaid unlimited connection few months back, as the internet speed was very bad I decided to cancel the same. I called up Photon customer care on 19Jan to register a cancellation request, initially some guy took the phone disconnected the call telling me that he placing me on hold. On that same day I had to make 6 calls to the customer care to register the request. My call was transfered to so called cancellation desk and the request was registered. The representative told me my connection will be deactivated in 3 days, and I will not be billed for this period. I asked him why can't they disconnect the service immediately, for that he said there is some process or some thing and it takes max 3 days for your connection to be deactivated and you will not be billed for the same.
As my connection was still active after 3 days, I had to call up the customer care to inquire about the same, this time some guy took the phone and told me it may take some 5 days in some cases and you don't have to worry as you will not be charged for the same.
Still after 5 days also my connection was active and I called up again to hear all these rediculous excuses, they kept telling me that it will happen soon and you will not be billed for this period.
Finally when i got the bill for next month I found that they have charged me for the enitre month. Then I called up customer care and only thing I could do was raising a complaint. Asusual this time also nothing happened. I called up customer care again for the last time, some guy called Ram picked up the call, I asked him for the escalation path, he told me there is no way to escalate this issue. Only thing he can do is raising an other complaint, for which he gave me a docket number. Again he assured me that it will be resolved, which I heard many times from these people.
I made a total of 29 calls to customer care for cancellation of the service and it has not happened till now, only thing is I lost much money in calling these peeple. I find TATA photon customer care service executives not fit for the job. They only have one thing to say "I will raise a complaint regarding this, sir", they always come up this insane excuses.
I don't understand the difficulty in cancelling a connection properly.
