So, even thought Tata DOCOMO promised to ensure this issue would be resolved soon, I had to take action and call the service myself.
They deactivated all the services I had at the moment (which were quite annoying already) and said they could not give me the money back.
Alright. I charge my phone again, and there we go, automatic subscriptions again.
And funny fact: the deactivation number does not work anymore. (as in, it doesn't even let me try)
Not holding my breath for "Do Not Disturb" service.
"Your World" alerts 10 Rs
"Personality Pack" 10 Rs
"Kannada Regional Love Tips" 12 Rs (seriously?)
so, 182 Rs that I'm owed.

Seeing as the issue of automatic subscriptions has not been solved, I am going to try a new approach.
Considering that the problem is not so much the expenses I am having, but the hassle of getting several messages a day with content of arguable quality in the form of tips against stress, health and jokes in Hindi, I will give Tata and anyone else who is interested the opportunity to experience my position.
